• Amazing mp3 tagging and renaming software!!!!!!!!

  Pros

  Very efficient with determining tags. Awesome tag and rename functionality. Allows you to name each file with certain pre-defined formats. Will rename duplicates or place in a separate folder. allows batch mode if you purchase license (which is a only $20 usd) Overall, an intensive analysis of music collection. Just an amazing program!!

  Cons

  The GUI could be a tad bit more user friendly but overall its fine. It will connect to the internet to search online databases.. would be nice to somehow (if possible) incorporate these databases into the software and have a feature that can update the databases.. would definitley speed up the process. Not a deal breaker though.

  Summary

  It worked amazingly well in tagging and renaming almost a 10,000 song collection. I have been writing small python scripts to do little manipulatinos to my music collection and when i came acrosss this software, i was rather upset, lol. It did everything i have been struggling to do over the last few months. It is just awesome. It correctly matched almost all of my songs. I mean occasionally it would switch some metadata fields but how can you possibly expect for it to be perfect. And for those of you who complain about the cost,.... Give me a break.. its $20 .. The author deserves to earn for what he creates. I am pretty sure you would not agree to do the current work you do for free!! Overall, the program is amazing and it has taking a dreadful task into a simple task. If you want it to work efficiently, throw the recommended 2,000 songs at a time. Remember to setup the options and setting the way you prefer. I think, once you try the program, you will be greatly satisfied. Then of course, if you like it and would rather have a 2,000 song list tagged all at once rather than 5 songs at a time.... then pay the $20 dollars.

  Doesn't do anything for free (other than look pretty and pretend to work). Actually not free at all.

  Summary

  It's commercial software that you have to pay for before it will do any real work. Download it expecting it to be free only if you want to waste your time. Not free at all. Lets you go all the way through setup, configuration, and even running the tasks, answering questions about how to handle your files, just to then tell you it won't actually let you do anything. Very misleading. A time wasting bait and switch.

• Does clean up your music tags, but incorrectly.

  Pros

  It actually works like it says by automatically tagging mp3's that aren't tagged in your collection. Saves some of the hassle of renaming the files yourself.

  Cons

  Many songs from famous artists were tagged incorrectly. Half of my doors collection are screwed up. Riders on the Storm is titled as People Are Strange as well as a slew of other artists. A third of Van Halen is renamed the same song over and over.

  Summary

  Either just use a freebie tag editor and rename the files yourself, or look for a similar product elsewhere. This one is not worth it. You have to pay twenty bucks to have it automatically tag more than 5 at a time. It has a 10 second timer between adding 5 songs at a time, making this program practically useless without registering. I have to go back now and clean up the mess that it "cleaned up".

  not sure, just wasted my time.

  Cons

  only after the thing spins through your thousands of audio files for 30 minutes to an hour do you find out it will only update 5 at a time unless you pay for the registration. thanks for wasting my time.

  Pros

  Worked great in correctly renaming all my mp3 files.

  Cons

  Doenst work with m4a or wma files. Shareware restricts to 5 files editted at one time, however, a macro program (like macro express) can get around that.
