Although more recent versions of Madden offer plenty more in the way of player control and artificial intelligence, the fun factor of the Madden NFL 99 version is hard to resist. The demo offers a full game between the Packers and the Broncos. There's an incredibly long list of keyboard controls, but it's just as easy to go with the one-click mode and let your PC do the work. The demo requires a surprising amount of strategic thinking--to score big, you'll have to get pretty creative with the playbook. Solid sound effects and 3D animation make the field seem that much more accessible. For any football fan, making calculated calls and watching the outcome never gets boring with this entertaining demo.
