Great for Triggering Music & FX for Live Shows

- Cons
- When starting out, a few features require you to look at the manual (which is well-written and not very long). With the current version (2.01), time location of fade points is not clearly indicated. Very limited loop capability.
- Summary
- I have used Macs Cue for years now. It is designed for theater, dance, or any live performance with sound FX and/or music. It allows you to configure lists of cues with any level of complexity, has a logical editing interface for trimming, fading, panning, looping and overlapping sounds with ease and control. I don't think of running shows without it now, and I almost cringe when I think of others trying to run shows with iTunes, a sampler, or dozens of open QT windows. Though it does require a little more time up front to set up the cue list, editing is easy, and running shows is a breeze. 5 stars!<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Apr 12, 2011<p/>CORRECTION: it is not fair to say it has limited loop capability, you can simply loop a cue, or repeat a cue in the list with fully editable overlap and crossfade. I only meant setting loop-points and crossfade for the included loop function is limited.

- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />While not as full featured as some other programs out there that claim to do the same thing, this program works and works CONSISTENTLY, which is of prime importance in any stage performance setting. Don't get me wrong, it's still a quirky program; you can't have cues that are actions rather than sounds (so I keep a short file of silence around to cue fade outs), but it's still the best damn thing around, and it keeps getting better. I was excited to see this new upgrade, and I'm already implementing it for a show I'm designing. I've found that I can just chuck this program on any machine with a new enough operating system and run a show from it. It's great. Here's 5 stars to help push for even more development!

I was looking for this type of app for a long time but all i got was 'Alphabet Soup'. :-( Macs Cue however, is excellent! I hope they keep improving it because it has the right feel to it. Now, if only i found Macs Cue earlier, but i guess this is a hidden gem....
