MacGhostView is a general purpose Postscript previewer for the Macintosh. It is quite similar to the ghostview program found on Unix machines and is based on ghostscript 6.0. If a Postscript document conforms to Adobe's Document Structuring Conventions, the pages of the document can be displayed in any order. The program includes installation and registration instructions.

Very useful for TeX, etc. The author gave me an unlock code, after I paid my shareware fee, in 2003 and it still works, two full versions later. PS Viewing is much faster than with Preview and Xwin and allows to zoom in on parts of the figure with a click of the mouse. To me, the package has been indispensable.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
There may be free alternatives for viewing PS files, but MGV can do much more than view PS files. If all you want to do is view PS files, then MGV may be overkill, but if you need to convert between file formats and have control over the conversion options with an easy-to-use GUI, then MGV is a great choice.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I tried it on Mac OS 9.2.2 with a 12 year old .ps document. I could view it on the screen as well as convert it into a PDF file. The document was in A4 format, and it took me a while until I found out how to tell the PS-to-PDF converter to generate a A4, not a Letter, document (hint: after launching "macps2pdf", use the "Edit->Info" menu command where you'll find out about possible options which you can then enter under the "Options->ps2pdf parameters..." menu command. But then the results were perfect.
