Taking unit models from the classes and races of EverQuest's massively multiplayer RPG, this knockoff adds nothing to the RTS genre and suffers from a range of problems. As in most real-time strategy games, you have to mine a resource (here, platinum), build units, and destroy the enemy base or perform other typical missions. Of the three factions in the game, the demo lets you play only for the Dawn Brotherhood. We found the units either too weak or too strong. The game has serious control problems, too. You can t build formations, and your units' behavior reverts to ""aggressive"" each time you issue a movement order, so keeping them from suicide attacks becomes a problem. This demo's multiplayer option works much like Warcraft's Battle.net. However, there are not many users playing online, and they're not very enthusiastic about the game. We suspect strategy buffs won t be much interested in this good-looking, but in other respects mediocre, RTS.

Developer's Description

Lords of EverQuest is a revolutionary real-time strategy game inspired by the lore of the online gaming phenomenon, EverQuest. Control lords and colossal armies as you battle for total domination of the lands of Antonica. This third demo from Sony Online reveals the final faction in the game, the Dawn Brotherhood. As the largest consortium on Norrath, the Dawn Brotherhood holds sway over everything from the glittering shores of Erud's Crossing to the barren wastes of The Frigid Plain. Given the Brotherhood's humble origins, few could have guessed how powerful their union would one day become.
