Send free encrypted e-mails and files with the Lockbin secure messaging service. This is the desktop counterpart to the online free e-mail encryption service. The Lockbin Uploader is a Java application that will run on Windows, Linux, Solaris or Mac. This package is the Windows installer package. Sending secure messages is easy with Lockbin. Just open the Lockbin Uploader, attach your file, enter your message, type a password and press the send button. Your message is transmitted securely to the Lockbin server, where it is held for the recipient to retrieve. Lockbin uses strong AES-256 bit encryption and Public Key encryption. Your message is always stored in an encrypted state. A new feature allows you to request information from anyone by email, where the recipient is mailed a link to a secure web form. Information uploaded to the form is delivered to your desktop through this app. If you use MS Outlook, there is an add-on counter part to this Java app, which you can find here on CNET.

Summary
The RECAPTCHA verification tool does not function properly in any browser. I gave up after a while and then, when I tried to log in at a later time, the login interface failed to remember my account. Though I'm sure I did not forget my password (Website contains no "forgot my password link"), I tried to contact tech support at Encryptomatic (owner of the product) and 2Checkout (their billing service). For two months they've been charging me on a recurring basis and responding with: "Stop bugging us with your requests to cancel your account. Just log in and hit the CANCEL button." Thanks guys! Here's your abysmal rating! I've gone back to using Sendinc, which is easy, free (unless you need added features), and provides all the protection I'm looking for.
This fits the bill. Just what I was looking for.

Pros
It works. I can easily send encrypted emails and a file from my computer.
Cons
I had to upgrade to Java 6. After I figured out how to do that, Lockbin worked just fine. Only allows me to send 1 file. If I have more than 1 file to send, I work around that by zipping them up and sending the zip file.
Summary
It works great. No problems. Recipients find it easy to download. No pop up ads or spy ware or anything that I can see. It installs an icon on the desktop. I click on it to start the Lockin app. To use it, I type my message and attach a file, enter a password, click Send, and off it goes. Pros
Both the Web access and the desktop access are easy to work with. The desktop access has a nice GUI and is the preferred way to access.
Cons
You cannot send same email to multiple recipients. You need to resend for each recipient.
Summary
It was an efficient, easy to use way to deliver sensitive documents.
