Tamil, and Sinhala are two main syllabic languages in South India and Sri Lanka. Hindi and a few other similar syllabic languages in North India and its neighborhood are written in Devanagari script. These writing systems are characterized by the presence of a massive collection of letters and related phonetic components. And they share a discernible similarity too. In 2013, we released Liyana Mahaththaya and Devanagari Writer Add-Ins for Microsoft Word introducing an innovative way to type in these scripts with ease. Liyana Mahaththaya Office is a logical next step along the same path. Liyana Mahaththaya Office includes Add-Ins for Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel. We have combined Devanagari Writer too under the product name Liyana Mahaththaya Office. So you can type seamlessly in Sinhala, Tamil, and Devanagari script on the same editor. The integration of the typing scratchpad to the main editor is slightly different to that of the Word Add-In, and here we adopt a copy-and-paste technique.Liyana Mahaththaya typing technique uses a simplified phonetic keyboard and an adaptive numeric keypad. The dynamic mapping of the numeric keypad is displayed on the screen in a compact window called 'the Chocolate'. This is a good-looking Add-In accessible through the Ribbon control.
