Math is hard--at least for some of us. This program, however, effortlessly performs any number of linear algebra computations for the student, scientist, or math enthusiast. Following a quick download, Linear Algebra launches in seconds. Granted, if you can figure out how to run the program, you probably don't need help with advance mathematics anyway. The main page is a chaotic mess, filled with buttons and fields and lacking any sort of explanation. After creating tables for variables, the program will perform any number of algebraic tasks. Once solved, operations can be saved as well as printed. The only major annoyance we discovered was after operations are solved the result pops up hidden behind the main window. To view the results, you have to switch to the second window. Overall, a reliable program for math problems.

Linear Algebra performs computations associated with matrices, including solutions of linear systems of equations even over-determined or inconsistent systems and solution by LU factors. The program also performs matrix operations (add, subtract, or multiply), finds determinant, trace, inverse, adjoint, QR or LU factors, eigenvalues, eigenvectors, establishes the definiteness of a symmetric matrix, scalar multiplication, transposition, shift, create general, identity, or symmetric matrices.
