LANmic APK for Android

LANmic is a free multimedia application designed for Android devices that enables live audio streaming from your device's microphone to various music players. It supports multiple streaming formats including HTTP WAVE, MP3, AMR, and OGG, as well as RTSP AAC and AMR. Users can select their preferred sample rates and default ports, and the app features a microphone volume indicator for HTTP streams. Notably, it allows for live streaming via Chromecast and continues to operate even when the screen is off or the app is running in the background.

This app is particularly useful for creating baby monitors, listening to children remotely, and facilitating one-way or two-way communication between devices. Users can share streaming URLs to compatible applications like Bubbleupnp for use with DLNA renderers such as XBMC. While the app functions well on older Android 2.3 devices, it is limited to local area network use unless port forwarding is configured.
