Used Knytt for Windows?
Editors’ Review
For no apparent reason, a cute little character called the Knytt is abducted from his home planet by a random alien spaceship. When the craft crashes on an unexplored planet, it's up to the Knytt to find the 11 spare parts needed for repair. This independent freeware game from Nifflas is short on action and long on exploration, with a spare but interesting visual style and engaging, ambient sounds.
All in all, Knytt is a standard 2D platformer, but the emphasis is on navigating the maze, rather than on bopping bad guys on the noggin. You will encounter a few enemies along the way, but they are all avoidable. There's no way for the Knytt to attack anyone or anything. The Knytt can move in all four directions, climbing or descending any wall he can reach. Other than that, you'll mainly use S to jump and A to indicate the direction of the next spare part you need to find. Hidden question marks offer power-ups such as super speed and super jump, and there's even supposedly a mini game, though we weren't able to find it during our run-through.
Knytt is a short game that can likely be finished in an afternoon, but it's also easily digestible in numerous 15-minute coffee breaks, and the game supports up to three save points for multiple players. Knytt could have been made in the 1980s, but the huge labyrinth for exploration, the minimalist, ambient sounds, and the freeware status help earn it a very well-deserved four stars.
