In Just Cause, a tropical South American paradise is about to implode as numerous factions vie for power. Playing as Rico Rodriguez, an undercover operative working for a top secret US government agency, players are tasked with overthrowing the corrupt government of San Esperito.

Just Cause offers the freedom to tackle your assignments however the gamer wants: playing the island's factions against one another, inciting a rebellion among the masses and building alliances with rebel forces and drug cartels. Gamers will be able to perform amazing over-the-top stunts; jump from vehicle to vehicle, base jump, skydive, parasail and more.

The controls are bad (especially the vehicles). Switching between weapons is either unintuitive or just ineffective. The game play itself seems to lack thought. You tend to just run around taking bullets, regardless if you take cover or not.

Pros
A very big, open world, lets you do many cool stuff, like ride your parachute hangin' on a motorbike, fly a war jet and explore the many islands.
Cons
Bad story, really easy and kind of boring missions at the beginning. It makes you feel that everything you do is pointless, at least the first half of the game. Just when it's getting interesting, the game ends. (this applies to the game, not the demo)

pretty cool stunts that you can pull will get you glued to this demo.There are basically 5 missions which u can complete in this demo to get a feel of this game. <p> graphics are great but they need a good graphics card to operate plus a lot of RAM is required- 512Mb.
Cons
1)Story is not new to anyone and very similar to hitman, GTA etc. where u have to assassinate/ kill to complete missions. <p>2) Might not work on some PC's due to requirements.

Forget about the other reviews. The fact that their systems can't run it well isn't going to affect your experience playing this. <p> <p>I'd say this game is quite a taste of the next generation. The scale is enormous and you feel a little less-restricted than the urban Grand Theft Auto. The visuals are awesome and at 1280x1024 it was running great on my system. <p> <p>I agree that the controls aren't fantastic, but they're not that bad either. You'll get used to them. Any issues with the controls are just minor. I mean... <p> <p>1. It's a demo; the controls will be improved so get over it. <p> <p>2. If you're a constant player of PC games you'll have experienced worse controls somewhere. <p> <p>The coolest part of this demo is probably the beginning - but it's all great! I played the demo three times in one day! At the start you jump out of a helicopter, and then you have to use your parachute and land on the enemy's car. It's great fun. <p> <p>You'll find yourself using a variety of cars, motorbikes, boats, and even a helicopter in this demo. Just play it for yourself... my words can't sum up how fun this is.
Cons
The only thing that really could have been improved is the storyline. It seems a bit bland. But do keep in mind that this is a demo, and many 'flaws' should be removed, including the controls being fixed. I'm definitely going to buy this!

It has the promise of a great game with heaps of action.

The controls are way too much for keyboard and too little for mouse control. You cant even use a mouse to go through the settings. Also it seems you cant remap your controls to make it smoother. I changed the settings and when i went into the demo the settings didnt chamge. <p>Another annoying thing is the "help" system that sticks a bloody popup in front of you to tell you what keys are for what, even after the 10th time ya play the demo, "FFS I know how to press "E" for gods sake." And to get out of this stupid popup you have to hit the enter key, not the numpad enter, oh no, you HAVE to hit the main enter key. NOT very user friendly.

The graphics are nice. The stunts and action are enjoyable. Playing the demo was pretty exciting.

You will need to lower your settings to get smooth gameplay if you don't have a good video card. <p> <p>This game uses ideas that had been used by many games before: Grand Theft Auto, Mercenaries, Jak. <p> <p>The storyline is awkward. You first have to assassinate a corrupt leader, then you go to take part in a rebel revolt, then two more assassinations, and finally high-jack a vehicle. The story is good for assembling cool action events one after another, but will not win any rewards.
