JigSaw is a utility for joining split files commonly found on Usenet. JigSaw can join files of any size within the limits of the HFS+ file system and available harddrive space. JigSaw is known to successfully join files split with the methods used by applications like the Windows application, Master Splitter. Jig saw also segments files and decompresses tgz files. JigSaw offers PAR2 creation and verification/repair and a nifty media viewer built into the application for quick viewing of recognized media once it is joined.
It's free, small and quick to download.
Seems to be very intuitive and user-friendly.
When it asks you to register, clicking the "Not yet" button apparently it starts working.
Cons
After I tried to join 2 files (750 Mb each one) it seemed it started working, it created an output file, and during 10 minutes, using over 80% of CPU it didn't decompress a single byte. The only way to shut down the program was forcing to quit.
I tried twice and then uninstalled. That's it.

5 stars!
I would LOVE to review...

Pros
It has a great interface and looks like a nice program. And I would love to review this, but...
Cons
...yet again, while it says clearly "free to try," a warning pops up when you download the trial version saying that you must pay a fee to use it...so, no trial. I wish I could say that it's an amazing program because it looks like it.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
The only thing I wanted this program for was to join files, but when I try to join them it does nothing but use up CPU power until you force quit it.
I recommend Ajoiner instead for joining files together, instead of this useless program.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I downloaded the program and attempted to join som .avi files.
When selecting multiple files, they appeared in the file list window in reverse sort order. Disconcerting. Tried dragging them into correct order without success. Also tried adding files to the list single - that resulted in an order with no rhyme or reason.
The help said the program would sort the files for me - well it didn't.
When attempting to join, I got an error message to the effect "File 001 not found - Continue?" Yes, it continues, but the order was scrambled.
Thinking this "001" was significant, I made copies of my files as "001", "002", "003", etc. Those, when added to the file list, did sort properly. However they would not join.
FaxSTF is, in fact, the worst program of all time...

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I read Mr Nash's comments and they are extreem. I seriously doubt this program has earned the worst ever title. After reading his comment it seems to me he is more upset with it being shareware than anything else.
The most important fact though is whether or not the program does what it says it will and this one does. I wouldn't call it perfect but I am giving it five stars to balance the ratings a little.
