Pros
I use Java everyday. And I run a Java-based game. You need a client to use it, and my friends don't have Java so this makes it alot easier for distribution. Smaller, and easier for the "computer illiterate" people.
Cons
Not 100% accurate sometimes... Has a few very minor flaws. But they shouldn't be a problem.
