• Critical errors, cryptically reported, no tech support

  Pros

  Easy to use, good clean API, worked fine within VB.

  Cons

  We attempted to drop it into an ASP application. It worked fine on our testing servers, but when we tried to deploy to production, it gave an error. I'd like to tell you what kind of error, or how we went about fixing it, but I can't. It returns error messages in a application-defined structure, which isn't supported in ASP. We can't view members of the structure, we can't get any information at all. All we see is 'Type Mismatch', which is what VBS tells you when you try to use an application-defined structure. Company technical support has been non-existant, basically amounting to "Did you try reinstalling?" (We had.) We have wasted a huge amount of time on this product. I would absolutely not recommend it for use in web applications. For desktop application, it may be fine-- we have had no problems using it under VB. (Not even to try and reproduce our ASP error condition where we could have examined the error struct.)
