iTalk Recorder for iOS

Our iPhone already came equipped with a Voice Memo app, but, hey, we're all about choices. iTalk Recorder claims to be a "full-featured recording app with a streamlined and intuitive user interface." And after putting it to the test, we'd have to agree with that statement.

iTalk Recorder does indeed offer a simple and intuitive interface. Users are greeted with a large, prominent red button that you press to start recording. To get started, simply give the recording a name, select from the three different recording quality options (Good, Better, Best), and press the Record button; pressing it again will stop the recording. For testing purposes, we made three different recordings of the same source, each at a different quality. You can review each recording's information, including the date, length, quality, file size, and format. There is also a place to add notes. We noticed a slight difference in the sound quality of each recording. We also noticed that the file size did increase as the recording quality increased. As far as sharing, iTalk Recorder lets you share via e-mail directly from the app, but there are directions for connecting your iPhone and sharing on iTunes. The app also includes an FAQ should you have specific questions.

iTalk Recorder is extremely easy to use and performs as promised. We highly recommend it for all users.
