View detailed information on CPU, memory, hard drives, IP and external IP, bandwidth, CPU temperature, battery, uptime and the top four processes. This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />It sounds from the other comments that the widget has had growing pains, but I am VERY pleased with iStat. It's one of those rare times I needed something and immediately found an app that hit the sweet spot. Most widgets are not worth more than the paper they're printed on. I use iStat to troubleshoot issues like overheating and runaway processes, and to give users some insight into how the computer works (it's friendlier than Terminal or Activity Monitor or the BIG iStat). My experience has been that I can get the info I want very quickly without thinking about it much, which to me suggests it has a good UI. I hope it doesn't go the way of bloat - more features is great BUT a lousy UI makes a Mac into a PC. The data overload in the app IS becoming a problem, and it will be interesting to see how the developer handles it without I hope producing a kludgey mess. Please resist handling it by offering 6,000 preference option to wade through! A consistent interface is good. Nice job, good price, more widgets ought to be like this!

I mainly use it to see how much of my CPU certain programs are eating up, but it also displays other information on memory, disks, networks and more.

I have a 12" PoweBook G4, and when I'm not plugged in to my big screen, real estate is critical. The "iStat Nano" gives just the right size widget for my purposes. I'd love to see the "fan" option that iStat Pro has, but that part hasn't been working for me anyway. Another great widget.

For example, iStat appears to be under-reporting the size of the VM swap space, and iStat only shows the CPUs at maximum 2/3 usage when Activity Monitor says they're in full use. I think I trust Activity Monitor more, but still, it's not a bad widget.

With more & more widgets taking up my Dashboard desktop real estate, this one will free up this valuable resource by eliminating the space used by Apple's SysStat! Great widget!

...already.<br />This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />This is a very handy little tool indeed. It does exactly what it claims to do, and does it well. The information is presented in a clean, easy-to-read manner, and is certainly comprehensive (yet due to the clear way in which it is presented, there's no danger of information overload). I've managed to get rid of two other widgets since getting this, because it covers everything each of them did, and more. The widget presents the information in groups, plus has an overview tab which shows the most pertinent information. A nice and discreet way of keeping an eye on your system's performance, which can help to spot potential issues early on.
