iQT: Raven IQ Test by HAPPS measures fluid intelligence with visual matrix puzzles. The app presents non-verbal multiple-choice problems that ask the player to identify missing elements inside pattern grids, producing an estimate of abstract reasoning. It bundles concise testing and repeated practice into a portable format. Students, applicants preparing psychometric exams, and cognitive-training enthusiasts gain an accessible, language-independent tool for short diagnostic sessions and skill tracking.

In this app, the core content is a sixty-item sequence that increases in difficulty across item groups. Problems use 2x2, 3x3 and 4x4 matrix layouts, so early items tend to be single-rule completions while later items require combining transformations. The ordering creates a clear difficulty curve that measures pattern-formation and abstract-rule inference rather than factual knowledge, matching the design of progressive matrix assessments.

Test structure emphasizes escalating matrix complexity

Timed and scoring modes shape session pacing and results

In the app, a rapid assessment mode limits sessions to roughly ten minutes, forcing quicker responses and favoring fluent pattern solvers. Scores derive from correct answers within the selected time frame and map against a global comparison database to produce percentile-style feedback. This scoring approach gives both immediate diagnostics and a relative ranking versus other users in the system.

Mobile presentation keeps distractions low on Android devices

In this app, the interface strips away extraneous elements so problems occupy most of the screen, which suits phone and tablet displays. The developer designed the layout for touch selection of multiple-choice answers and straightforward navigation between items. Compatibility notes indicate it runs on standard modern Android devices, making it convenient for on-the-go practice without complex setup.

Replay value centers on measurable improvement and high ceiling

In this app, replayability comes from repeating the test under different pacing conditions and tracking changes via the built-in comparison feature. The item set includes sufficiently challenging problems to test advanced abstract reasoning, which supports longer-term practice for exam preparation. Positive download figures also suggest regular engagement among users seeking measurable gains in pattern-recognition speed and accuracy.

  • Pros

    • Non-verbal matrix format supports culture-fair assessment
    • Sixty-item sequence covers simple to advanced pattern problems
    • Built-in percentile comparison offers relative scoring feedback
  • Cons

    • Timed ten-minute option favors quick solvers over slower reasoning
    • Designed as assessment, not a free-form puzzle sandbox
    • Android-only availability limits cross-platform access

Bottom Line

A focused, measurement-oriented choice for practice and evaluation

iQT suits players who want a compact, culture-neutral estimate of fluid reasoning and measurable progress. One consideration is that its emphasis on short, test-style sessions prioritizes speeded judgment over exploratory puzzle play. For individuals preparing for psychometric assessments or tracking abstract-reasoning gains, the app provides a concentrated, mobile-ready testing environment worth trying.

What is a Raven IQ Test?

Raven's Progressive Matrices or RPM is a nonverbal group test typically used in educational settings. It is used to measure abstract reasoning and regarded as a non-verbal estimate of fluid intelligence.

It is the most common and popular test administered to groups ranging from 5-year-olds to the elderly. This format is designed to measure the test taker's reasoning ability, the educative ("meaning-making") component of Spearman's g (g is often referred to as general intelligence).

The tests were originally developed by John C. Raven in 1936. In each test item, the subject is asked to identify the missing element that completes a pattern. Many patterns are presented in the form of a 66, 44, 33, or 22 matrix, giving the test its name.
