How much disk space or battery power do you have left? You can pull up these and other Mac OS X statistics with this simple system-monitoring utility. iPulse monitors and graphically represents the internal functions of your machine through an attractive, colorful gauge that you can move, hide, resize, or even add a skin to for a custom look. It can display CPU activity, network traffic, and memory usage through a single window on the desktop or in the Dock. We used iPulse as a floating window on the desktop and liked its compact and elegant interface, although we found that it takes some time to truly understand the different color meanings and to gauge segments. The program is fully configurable, letting you track only the elements you choose. For the Mac user who wants to know what his or her computer is doing at all times, this little utility can be a fun and useful tool.

Pros
Very easy to set up. Seemingly endless variety of "themes" and the ability to either modify existing themes or create your own from scratch.
Cons
No negatives here. Data windows can be large and obscure the desktop at times.

I really enjoyed this product and liking it was not difficult. As a matter of fact, I think I am going to make a program just like this one and call it something even more clever. That will be something to see for sure, boss.
Cons
In contrast to my positive review I'm sure you found most helpful, I must add that after I turned my computer off, the program was no longer any help. I would suggest that at least it could be made to let you know that your computer is 'off' and not just broken. Aside from that minor detail, missing are the obligatory barnyard animal sounds, spinning logos and ads! Where are the ads? How is one supposed to know where to click without some garish, blinking phrase like 'click here!' blasting out at you? I found this to be extremely confusing as I have grown accustomed to good software being supported by ads. Without ads, we are all just looking at each other wondering where the hell to get a shirt like that or shoes like those..

iPulse is an application that graphically displays the inner workings of Mac OS X. Its user interface displays a multitude of information on the desktop or in the Dock. The entire UI is completely configurable so you can turn off gauges you don't want, leaving only what you're interested in for easy viewing. iPulse gauges CPU activity (single and dual), system load, network activity, memory activity and usage, disk usage, and the current time and date.

Version 2.1.9 adds support for reading temperature from SMC on the latest Intel Macs.
