instaPay provides you with quick access to your bank accounts from your smart phone to make secure and instant electronic funds transfers to registered CHIPS eWallet users. This means that you can use instaPay to:

pay for goods and services pay points

pay for goods and services provided by small or informal businesses, and self-employed individuals

transfer money to other CHIPS eWallet users like your dependents, family, friends, etc.

For instaPay no registration is required, and you do not need to provide any personal information. Simply download the App and you are ready to make secure instant payments.

Currently instaPay can facilitate payments from bank account/s at any of the five major banks in South Africa, namely ABSA, FNB, Standard Bank, Nedbank, and Capitec.

To receive money through instaPay you need to download the CHIPS eWallet App from the relevant App store, and register as a user by following the process available on the App.

CHIPS are digital tokens that derive its name from chips used as a substitute for money. CHIPS users can exchange money for chips and then use the chips to exchange value. At any time, the CHIPS in the users eWallet can be exchanged for money.

When you exchange your money for CHIPS, it is deposited into a secure and regulated Value Store, in your own Value Store account. At the same time the equivalent value in CHIPS is made available in your CHIPS eWallet, where it can be used for real-time peer-to-peer transactions.

instaPay Fees and charges

No transaction fees are charged when you make payments using instaPay. However, your normal bank fees are applicable for internet banking transfers from your bank account (if any apply) and are charged in the normal course of business by your bank.
