  -None For Now (Maybe A Bit Difficult If You Want Your Custom Installer i.e. Inserting Your Custom Graphics).

  Pros

  Does everything you may need or can think of, once you learn what to include in your installation scripts, in what order, etc.

  Cons

  Seemingly, creating professional installers requires a lot of procedural scripting. When working with this software, I have an uneasy feeling of being an inexperienced rookie, and I haven't felt that way in 20 years.

  Summary

  The main and only problem is that the 5-star ratings scale has to accommodate all available free installation tools. Having used InstallJammer for a few months, I have to give InnoSetup Compiler three stars, as more t than one star separates InnoSetup and InstallJammer in my view. Still, InnoSetup makes the top-5 cut, but definitely not as #1.

  For years I've been a huge fan of Clickteam's Install Creator. I've never had any issues with it, however, when uninstalling I use the Revo Uninstaller. I ran a test and compile a few files using Install Creator. After Revo ran the default uninstall it then searched the registry and hard drive for orphan files. It found a couple, the uninstall file and folder. I ran the same exact test except this time I used Inno to create the setup utility. I installed the test program. Then, just as I did with the previous one, I used Revo Uninstall to uninstall the test installation. It ran the default uninstall prgram. Then it searched for orphan registry entries, files, and folders. It found 0. Finally, size. The setup file created with Install Maker was 5.25MB. The setup file createD with Inno was 4.13MB. The Inno system created a setup file over 1MB smaller.

  Pros

  The Wizard covers all the basics and anything else you possibly need can be specified in the script file, which is comprehensively documented. You can specify other programs to run post-installation for example, as well as post-uninstallation.

  Cons

  Nothing I can think of, unless you want unusual graphics or something, and maybe it can do that as well.

  Summary

  I looked at every other installer available through a search of "Installer Setup" in cnet downloads. A lot of flakey, incomplete, and/or laughably complex products available.The following were the only ones worthwhile: -Install Creator (Came in second to Inno Setup) Really the only problem is the banner at the end of user installation to the effect, "This program was installed with a free ware version of Install Creator" and it lists their website. You don't get that B.S. with Inno Setup. Also, while the graphics of Install dialogs appeared to be more configurable in Install Creator than Inno Setup, the latter's default configuration was preferable to Install Creator.) -Install Station: This one works as well. The main problem is that it apparently only produces a full-screen installer. -SetupTIE2000 - This is apparently some German software, which had an unusual interface but seemed comprehensive and well put together. And Inno Setup is preferable to any of the above.
