ImageToASCII

By JeRM Software Free to try

Developer's Description

This app generates ASCII art from any input image you supply. You load an image (.jpg, .bmp) and tune a few parameters, then click the Image-To-ASCII button to see the ASCII art. ASCII art is the use of text characters such as letters, numbers and punctuation marks to display an image. JeRM ImageToASCII version 1.1.0.0 includes 3 modes of ASCII art generation, 1 in black-and-white, and 2 in color. There are several parameters you can play with when using this application.

You can hand select which ASCII text characters will be used in the final image. To gain more detail you can magnify your input image, which will effectively boost the number of characters used in the final image--often giving your ASCII art a better likeness to the original image. You can also smooth your input image, which sometimes helps generate better ASCII art too. Version 1.1.0.1 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.
