• Beware of ImageMatics un-advertised policies!

  The program works fine as long as they honor the license you bought.

  When they no longer support their program. They lock you out of using your program that is fully paid for. Their software/program is designed that way (I found out).

  Summary

  I bought the PE and Pro single license. I was very content with the performance of the software program until.... The only problem I didn't like (after having the experience that they conveniently didn't tell me about) that if you were to install it on another computer (My old computer died) you had to re-contact Imagematics (in itself is a major issue? just read the other reviews on other sites) so they could reset their system/url to reissue my license code (that I've already paid for twice). Well, I found out now that they no longer support PE or the Pro for which I didn't mind, I just wanted my software/program unlocked. I didn't want help from them that required support I just wanted them to fix their URL site that their/my program THEY DESIGNED to have access to, to re-initialize my paid software. They refuse to help me? So much for the license. Their programs are setup to go out to their site to confirm your license when first installed. If they change their site for your program, YOU'RE SCREWED! It works till they don't support it. I've had many programs that were not supported (after a time) but you could still use it since you paid for it. But this is the first time I've had a program I paid in-full for which THEY MADE IT UNUSALABLE (the url/site my program (at home) was trying to find had been removed via IMAGEMATICS, therefore the program could no longer re- initialize itself even thought it was totally paid for? For those that might be looking for a program you can count on. I now would say stay clear of IMAGEMATICS. The license is only good as long as they decide so. My other advice would be never never never buy a program that requires their program to contact the company's website for authorization to work. If so, then they got you! If you can't simply install the license code into the program at home, etc. Then BEWARE! They can decide at anytime to make your program useless.

  A lot of powerful features you won't find even in programs like PowerPoint, such as panning and zooming.

  Cons

  Support is non-existent. This software seems to be developed, sold and supported by a one-man operation, and if you do get an e-mail response it is a sentence or a sentence fragment. If you're not helped by that you need to write again. The one time I called, he actually told me that that's the best way to get help. Website is confusing and as mentioned earlier, names of products don't make sense so you're not sure what you're ordering.

  Summary

  As long as you overlook all the cheesy templates and outdated photo transitions (which make this seem like software for children or scrap-booking grandmas) you can actually make some very professional looking shows with the software. Once learned, it's easy to use. But it's not intuitive. For example, I finally figured out one can edit the timing of multiples slides at a time, but the button for doing so is REALLY unobvious, and not situated with the other mass editing features. Simply put: The shows you can produce with this will not give away the aggrivation you had to go through to figure out how to make them. The end product is excellent.

  I was writing out a story board for a training video I'm creating at work and I had no idea how I was going to acheive the effect I was going for. I finally found this program and it is EXACTLY what I was looking for. It is an incredibly easy-to-use powerful product.

  It doesn't duplicate photos but rather builds references to where your pics are. The references are absolute and you will have probs if you move the pics after building the catalog but it's easy enough to recover if you move the pics back to where they were when you were building the catalog. Moving, adding and deleting references within the catalog are very easy. I got married and had over 2 dozen of CDs of pics to pull together. And then I published them to our web site. StillMotion made this so easy! Wow! Great app! Thanks ImageMatics!

  Confusing name of applications. They sent me a registration code, the software indicated that the registration was succesful, but it did not remove the shareware limitations and watermarks. Repeated attempts to correct the problem, over a four day period through their tech support resulted in nothing. I never did get the sofwtare working. I asked for a refund, and no response! I do not recommend this application!
