It's not bad while it's free
Otty6- Pros
- Simple to set up with basic knowledge
- Cons
- No real guidance to use; lots of trial and error and fishing about for features. RSS Feed creator doesn't work. Still trying to figure out.
- Summary
- It's good while it's free. Does the basics. Customization requires a little programming knowledge. I doubt I will get more from using the paid version (£20) so in two minds to continue but if you're not looking for anything fancy, this is the ticket.

Updated on Feb 12, 2013
Sadly I did later pay for full version - against my better judgement. It was a waste of time and money. What was worse, was that when I changed blog platform to Wordpress, I wasn't able to transfer content to Wordpress or any other blog platforms/hosts that I searched out. NOT AT ALL IMPRESSED.
iBlog is pretty good. I like it a lot.

- Summary
- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I have been using iBlog for almost 3 years as a daily journal writing tool with no problems and when I had a question, the developer was quick to respond and solved my question. The version I've been using was free version with a .Mac subscription back in summer 2003. This version is pretty good and can handle large database of blogs and I love that it can search the entire database, years of notes and find exactly what I was looking for! I can honestly say that iBlog has been so good in my experience that I bought it even though I did not have to.
Total crash - no help

- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I have been using iBlog for some years now and cannot at all recognize the negative criticism seen in some of the reviews below. Has anyone of you ever used the application? It is so easy to get started and going and the end result are great. Sure I have had some wishes for the further development and still have, but the overall rating of it is better than average. I have tried e.g. Wordpress and no that does not do it for me - way too complicated. It might be free but it isnâ??t close to the easiness of iBlog. Iâ??m blogging several times a week and have done so with iBlog since 2003 and I have not seen a none web-based app yet that can do the same as well as this.
IBolg Support and Overall impressions

- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I have been using Iblog for a couple of years now and I have always found their customer support excellent (quality of help and promptness) when I have encountered issues. I don't understand some other comments about poor support, my experiences have only been postive.
Progress... Finally

- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Conceptually, there's nothing like iBlog. The features are great. But, it was like the bad little girl: when she was good, she was very good; but when she was bad, she was horrid. Previous versions were buggy, and the layouts were flawed. Reporting bugs to Lifli Software seemed futile, and responses from the developer were almost nonexistent. Updates were infrequent and inadequate. The criticism still stands, but version 1.4.5 is SO much better than its predecessors. Hopefully, Lifli Software is on a roll!
Do Not get this \"upgrade\"

- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I used to looove this application...but I cannot recommend it any more. Back-up features are now broken. The developers have really dropped the ball on this application. It was a very good and VERY promising application that is quickly becoming a liability to use. They have been, they claim, fixing bugs- but they only get worse and there are no new features. How about a banner photo, or side menu clock/photo/calendar?! I just bought BlogStudio...you may want to have a look at it...the way iBlog is going it will not be around much longer.
Double warning

- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.

1) Major bugs are still not resoved. I pointed these out to the developers in december... So there are still problems with disapearing dates making your blog useless to edit or to publish. A lot of people have pointed this here and tried to contact the developers. I can't believe they still release this kind of crappy version of a program that used to be great.

2) Now iBlog Backup doesn't work anymore. It can't delete the new preference file. So be sure to make a backup copy of your blog by hand, before running this version.

iBlog seems to get worse with every new release. Stick with version 1.4.0. (It works with iPhoto 5, so you don't need the update)
Going to have to go with \"No\"

- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Interesting application, but it's no Tangelo. I'm constantly checking out weblog utilities, and this one didn't do it for me. I created a post and published it locally. The local page didn't include the movie I had included. I also tried publishing to my website and the application created the folders, but didn't place any files in those folders. This application is not user friendly and I don't have the time to attempt to learn it. This program is a pain in the iButt. Sorr Charlie, but I'll stick with Tangelo.

- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
All of a sudden whatever I do, my blog won't get published. I can write more stuff but when I hit publish it just keeps on circling and nothing is published... this program is now useless... !!! And why so few updates ? why not make this program a little more macish. So many functions have to be figured out in order to make them work properly.
