  As a design company we need our drawings approved by our clients before we can go ahead with the order. Unfortunately most of our clients dont have CAD facilities and so i had to source some PDF conversion software so we could be sure our plans could be viewed on any pc. Whilst AutoCAD can print to PDF and export to bitmap etc the quality was unsatisfactory for our needs. <p>After some research and trials we decided on HSCADView as it was simple enough for everyone to use, had a fast conversion rate and the quality actually matched the original CAD drawing. For the price, features and friendly staff/customer support you cant go wrong with this software. We have recently upgraded to version 2 and not only have they packed in more conversion/viewing features, an improved interface and more 3D capabilities but the process time is now even quicker! <p> <p>If you are considering this software as a conversion or viewing solution then download it now! - you wont be sorry.

  Pros

  I was using the previous version of hsCADView and it was pretty good with very good view rotation/pan tools, easy layer color/on-off modifications, file format conversions. And now the measure tool with entity snap ability is great. Good features for the price.

  very much user friendly. almost all tools are just one click away, easy to use. predefined views for easy navigation through 3D drawings. reads and converts to almost all CAD formats.

  I have been looking in the first place for a good dwg-viewer. I tried several of the lower priced dwg-viewers and I didn't find one that offered as much as hSCADView: <p>the possibility to view different files at once (tabs); support for layouts (some don't); support for 3D-solids (most don't), different rendering styles, possibility to turn layers on and off (with immediate effect without closing the layer dialogbox); and support for inserted rasterimages, preset viewing angles for 3D (and they are working on a 3Dorbit viewing tool). So, as a viewer-tool I like it very much. <p> <p>I won't comment much on the other possibilities as to me they are not that important (printing; PDF-creation; converting to other formats) but I would guess they are of the same level. I simply tried to convert a A0-layout (with regular viewports and rasterimages) to a PDF. It took quite a bit of a long time (I usually use the PDF-driver which is part of Paperport and it works much faster) but it worked and results were fine. (Note: the PDF-creation of a layout doesn't take into account the plotstyle in the layout; Not exactly a bug but I think when creating a PDF one should have the possibility to use the plotstyle).

  Does not import all of the drawing sheets in subject (acad 2005) drawing only converts the "sheet" that was open when the drawing was last saved.

  This progam works pretty well. It is simple, functional, and does what it advertises. I used the program to save some AutoCAD 2005 files to r13s so that I could work with them without buying an upgrade. ItÂ’s a tight little viewer with lots of functionality for the (cheap) price.
