HomeGauge Inspection Software includes many inspection templates, such as: standard home inspection formats, commercial inspections, 4 point inspections, multi-family units, new construction phases, condos, mold, and Texas. More inspection templates are available and the templates can be modified for any property inspection type or for any geographical area. HomeGauge also includes special forms, such as the Wind Mitigation form for Florida inspectors. A built-in photo editor and thumbnail preview makes it easy to add and edit photos in the report without the need for any additional software. An additional sketching tool is included when a custom drawing or diagram is required to explain an issue. Other features include: automatic summary or multiple summaries, search for unanswered items before leaving the home, built in inspection tips, audio notes recording, flag important items to return to later, store and sort your reports automatically, import/export data to/from QuickBooks. HomeGauge include an automatic reinspection function with user defined completion stamps, image overlay (great for infrared camera users), and integration with online mapping services.

Pros
Flexible & customizable. easy photo inserts with circles & arrows. Automatic uploads and web access of HTML reports (cost extra). esay to print. People at Homgauge are friendly
Cons
Not made for office environment just individual users. Poor tech help availability and knowledge, answering machine.You pay for their product identity marketing which can't be removed from report or upload site.
Summary
IIt's probably the best of home inspection software available as far as features and flexibility. But is time consuming to set up, confusing to get used too and counter productive for practicle use. It can easily take longer to do the report than the actual inspection. Silver, gold and platinum ranking system they use is based on level of membership and not qualifications which is misleading to the public. Homegauge people are very friendly and know the home inspection industry because they are a home inspection company. But they are not sohpisticated and adept as a software provider. They do not disclose when you sign up that their software and upload service it is loaded with their marketing identity. You will pay for their exposure buy using their service. A double payoff for them that is not typical for the software industry. There is no private label option for your company identity. They are a better company but you do not get what you pay for. It's a good product but a poor value.
