If you’re a Harry Potter fan, this is probably the game you’ve been waiting for since the last HP titles. Instead of being another rehash of the books, it’s set somewhere in the 1800s. You’ll get to create your character, go to Hogwarts, learn magic, and explore a very different wizarding world.
Nothing is ever easy, though. Evil forces threaten everything you care about, and you need to stop them by doing various missions and quests. Luckily, your character has an affinity for ancient magic. You can either use this unique power for good or turn to darker, more sinister spells and potions instead.
One of the game’s best features is its replay value. Since this is your legacy, your decisions determine how the story unfolds. Are you going to save Hogwarts, or condemn it? That’s a choice you need to make.
Where can you run this program?
Legacy is playable on PC, as well as the latest PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
Is there a better alternative?
No. Most existing HP games are rehashes of the novels, with no unique content. The one exception is Hogwarts Mystery, but, being limited to mobile platforms, it simply can’t compete with Legacy.

Our take
Portkey’s brought us many Harry Potter games before, but they can’t compete with Hogwarts Legacy. It’s the first non-mobile game to feature a unique story, unknown characters, and customizable avatars. Even though Hogwarts is a familiar and welcome sight, the open-world beckons with the promise of new adventures.
Should you download it?
Yes. Who doesn’t want to kill a troll with the wave of a wand and a few magic words? You don’t need to be a fan of Harry Potter to enjoy the game, either. The great graphics, gameplay, and replay value make Hogwarts Legacy a good option for anyone who enjoys magical RPGs.
