HelpNDoc is an easy to use and intuitive help authoring tool. HelpNDoc provides a clear and efficient interface to build the most amazing CHM help files, WEB based documentation, PDF, and Word documents from a single source without worrying about the inner working of help file generation. You just have to enter or import your documentation in the built-in word processor and hit the "Compile" button to obtain a fully functional help file which looks exactly as you designed it.
The application is very easy to use - it feels just like using Word. One button then exports to various file formats.
Cons
The footer on every page. Paying for the full version removes these - so it depends if getting rid of the footer is worth £100. In my case it was, but I was happy to pay as the product is so easy to use.
I would have preferred to be able to create links to topics by dragging a topic onto a page. Perhaps that will come in a future version?
Summary
A very easy to use product, worth paying out money for.
Great product - does everything it says it does

Pros
Easy to use. Powerful. Plenty of options. Free.
Cons
Puts a line at the bottom of each page "This has been generated by the free HelpNDoc tool" or something similar.
Summary
I've been using it for years for my own freeware software. Looked for alternatives recently - but could find any that were as powerful and easy to use - while being free.
Awesome product!

Pros
Very easy to create CHM files.
Cons
Really don't have any.
Summary
Can easily create CHM files. Not sure why a voter gave it 1 star. Also allows you to export your help files to DOC, PDF, and HTML. While it does but a link back to the creators of HelpNDoc, it's nothing intrusive. Anyone can easily edit that out of a DOC, HTML, and PDF file.
One Major Bug!

Pros
None!!!!!!
Cons
This does NOT generate a chm file!
It only creates an HTM file!
Summary
This might be useful, but I figure that if it only works half as good as it should, then I will keep looking for something better!
Not functional
