HealthEngage Diabetes provides an easy, yet complete tool for Diabetics to enter their health information from any desktop computer or handheld device. Using the software, diabetics and their Doctors are able to better manage their conditions and spot dangerous trends before they become life threatening. Diabetics can collect, graph and produce reports about their condition with one click of the mouse. The nutrition section utilizes the USDA's database of over 7200 foods. The exercise section includes the Sports Medicine Association's database of over 700 exercises and physical activities. Users can also set reminders for appointments, refills, etc. and can even enter their complete laboratory test results and medications which can then be kept as their personal digital health record.

I have to ask myself where are all the other software programs for the Diabetic community from innovative Mac programers out there. Unfortunately this the one your led to when your in the hunt for help in managing diabetes!

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Okay, right off, retinopathy and degenerative sight are not uncommon spin-offs of diabetes, right? You can't even resize the display window past a ridiculously small font size. The manual entry required of the archaic interface is not at all pleasant. Email support is nonexistent (17 weeks, still waiting...), telephone support has NEVER answered the line -- not so much as an answering machine. All of this for the CRAZY high price they charge? No way. when speaking with other diabetecs about disease tracking software, I consistently refer to my Health Engage purchase as my Stupid Man's Tax for 2004. I can go on and on, but why? Read all of the reviews here. See the pattern. Pay attention to that gut feeling that's telling you to stay away from purchasing the product. Smoke a couple of twenty-dollar bills if you still have an urge to waste money.

Boneless chicken breast, broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms, onions, carrots. First I have to search for Chicken, Broilers or Fryers, Breast, Meat Only, Raw. It was a 6 ounce piece, but the program only handles grams or servings. How much is a serving? Broccoli? Again, the only options are "Bunch" or grams. Cauliflower? "Flower" or grams. It takes longer to enter the meal than it does to eat it! Exercise - equally annoying. My favorite machine is an elliptical cross-trainer. Not on the list. About the only thing this program manages easily is blood glucose readings. Will someone PLEASE take a look at the venerable old Windows 3.x program "Lifeform" from Fitnesoft? I've sent three emails to HealthEngage, and a week later have received no response. If you suffer from low blood pressure and need something to elevate it, the stress of trying to use this program will help. Otherwise, it's too annoying for the Mac, and the lack of support from HealthEngage does not bode well for future improvements.
