Editors’ Review
Warner Bros.'s Heads Up! for iPhone is best known as the trivia game that comedian and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres plays on her talk show. The game provides almost 60 categories, some free and some paid, to choose from. Select the category of your choice and then place the phone on your forehead facing your friends. Their job is to help you guess the words: actor names, song names, accent names, food names, and so on. The more you get right, the higher your score.
Pros
Easy gameplay: Pick a category on your phone, hold it up against your forehead, and let your teammates give you clues till you figure out the correct answer. As soon as you get it right, flip your phone down to refresh to the next word. If you can't figure it out, just pass by flipping your phone back. When the game's over, get back to the home screen with a swipe.
Diverse categories to choose from: There are almost 60 category decks to choose from, divided into free, paid (99 cents via in-app purchase), new, and limited-time
Create your own: Not finding what you're looking for? You can even create your own categories within the game.
Instant Replays: Grant the game access to your phone's camera and microphone to capture hilarious gameplay that you can then save to laugh at later or share over social media.
Intro from Ellen DeGeneres, herself: Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres provides an amusing yet informative introduction to Heads Up!'s gameplay. You can get to it at any time by swiping down from the main categories page.
Cons
Only playable with friends: Heads Up! is a social game, so you can't play it unless you have at least one friend with you. If you're playing alone, you're better off with a game like HQ Trivia.
Bottom Line
Heads up, HQ Trivia lovers, if you're looking for a new trivia game to play, then give Heads Up! a try! Heads Up! costs 99 cents on the App Store.
