  v v bad video converter tool. Don't use it. I have wasted full one day to convert mp4 videos to 720*578 .mp4 format... Mostly program crashes.. and if not crashes then converts the mp4 without video output.. only audio remains, video disappears. I strongly non-recommend this.

  Pros

  If you who believe Wonderfox's near-frantic blurb about guaranteed goodness free for life, this sounds like the best thing since sliced bread. Perhaps it is, but that seems to come at a worrying price. You have to ask yourself, always, how an apparently superlative product can afford to be put out for free. One or two bits of software genuinely are labours of love (think of VLC or Paint.net) and others are used to train IT students - but precious few. Look at the "Awesome" review above, without one penny to pay. How can this apply to a product which has no strings attached? Who pays the rent?

  Cons

  There really are no free lunches in this life, as the English say. Those who become used to free, no-questions-asked software (do I really still need to mention DVDVideosoft?) and run extensive assays of their computer after downloading and installing, come to prefer the Russian version: "You only get free cheese in a rat trap." I ran an AVG scan of specifically this product and straightaway up came the warning of infection: "MalSign.Generic.139". AVG claimed that this was cleanable. Maybe it is, but you never know?

  Summary

  I can't claim definitive proof that this product is infected with malware. All I know is that evidence has appeared which in the past has been vindicated. Now, if you have an old banger of a PC: run a few anti-virus purges and don't let this trouble you. But if you use your computer for sensitive critical work, or if you have a flash new machine which is your pride and joy, I'd steer clear. For what it's worth, the Wondershare and Freemake rivals SEEM to be coming up clean. So far...

• Best Video Converter PERIOD!

  Pros

  *Super fast and simple to use. Built in profiles are comprehensive and save a lot of time. *Compression is very good! Customizable compression levels and good quality output.

  Cons

  *Encoding MP4 to MP4 results in non-encode. The file just copies itself. Other times, there is no audio in the output file. *No nVidea CUDA support for latest generation cards. 4 year old graphic cards like the GTX550Ti is supported but not the GTX900 series. Instead, the software burns processor power. *Youtube downloading stops working if not using the latest version. Evil incentive to upgrade perhaps? *Built-in editor somewhat lacking. But who uses a video converter's editor anyways?

  Summary

  With the plethora of free video converters out there, I actually purchased this software for MONEY! The time wasted on other video converter software just was not worth the hassle anymore. Wonderfox's Video Converter Factory is the absolute best among 10 video converters I have tested.

  A real winner! Impressive and clean interface. Liked the icons and defaults for many devices. Within minutes I'd converted a file I'd been struggling with all evening. A definite keeper.

  Cant believe it's TOTALLY FREE

  Great app. I really like the interface and I can make use of the merge function and so I am going to keep it.

  Summary

  An awesome program which contains almost all functions that a video converter should have. The editing function is useful and the effect is wonderful. Especially the effect, i like it. But, some more effects with the software will be better.

  1. There a few upgrade tips, they are unwelcome. 2. It's limit to convert up to 1080P video, the 4k conversion is disabled

  I never used this kind of software before, but after using Free HD Video Converter Factory 6.1, I find the converter is so good and convenient. It's simply and fast to handle. I love it very much. Besides, it's for free.

  Small in size with well-designed interface, conversion speed is fast and video quality is fine.

  Cons

  All about its limitation, I can understand the limitation on some editing functions as a free product but why limit video downloading feature. If it cannot be used at all, it's better to remove this feature.

  Pros

  It helps me to convert many MKV files to HD MP4 so I can play those videos on my iphone and pad. The performacne of video conversion is good and quality is good.

  Cons

  There are some limitations, you cannot edit videos and download videos. But it's Ok for me as a free product. I just use it to convert video to HD.
