Halo 2: Anniversary is now available on PC as part of the Master Chief Collection. This game is a remastered version of the original Halo 2. The story continues right after the first Halo game. Humanity had a brief victory, but soon the Covenant attacked Earth seeking revenge. Their plan fails, leading them to escape through slipspace. Here, they and the Master Chief find a new Halo ring. Halo 2 is considered one of the best games ever and now this remastered version keeps this nostalgic game up with today’s standards.

Halo 2: Anniversary is enhanced for PC play, supporting high resolutions up to 4K and smooth frame rates over 60 FPS. Players can adjust many settings like mouse and keyboard controls, screen width, and view angles to suit their preferences. The game offers 15 missions where players can control both the Master Chief and, for the first time, the Arbiter from the Covenant. Players can switch between the updated graphics of the Anniversary edition and the original game’s graphics. The updated version includes improved cutscenes made by Blur Studio, adding visual depth to the story. The game also features a robust multiplayer experience with a total of 32 maps, both updated and original, accompanied by a modernized player progression system.

Halo 2: Anniversary builds on the Halo narrative by introducing the Arbiter as a new playable character alongside the Master Chief. This addition offers a deeper look into the inner workings and turmoil within the Covenant and enriches the game's story. 

The popularity of Halo 2 largely came from its multiplayer features that connected players globally, creating a community and shared gaming experiences. Microsoft also helped the game's reputation by promoting it widely, even showing a trailer in movie theaters.
