The help button sends you to their web site trying to sell you Express Burn Disc Burning Software; there is no help file. Pretty lousy marketing technique; I will look for a friendlier company to do business with. I'm disappointed that CNET seems to promote it.

  Does not playback audio while recording VHS from tape player.

  Summary

  While audio playback while recording would be nice, it is not a necessity for me. I have an old 12" TV hooked up on a co-ax output from the VHS player, so I get the audio feed from there. Having the audio is a big help when I get to the editing and cutting scenes together.

  Works as advertised; Simple install; Simple interface; simple controls. Basic hue/sat/contrast controls are adequate. Choose DVD files or video files (mp4, avi, or wmv).

  Simple controls=not much adjustment.

  Lost my Roxio EasyVHSToDVD cd, glad I found this instead of paying another $50. NCH gets the job done long as you have the USB dongle and its driver - thankfully GV detected my Roxio device. Works on my on XP and Win7 PCs and 1 Vista laptop, so it plays well with others! Audio records as expected, in sync & complete. Interface is so simple I'm not sure what folks need from a "Help" function; there aren't that many controls to adjust to begin with. Anyone needing to convert to formats other than mp4/avi/wmv, or need deeper controls to generate files can use FormatFactory or HandBrake (both free). This is good stuff.

• Cute interface - buggy program

  Very simple wizard interface; I wish all capture programs were this easy to follow.

  Multiple blue-screens and lockups while running this program.

  Summary

  After spending some hours trying to get this program to run without crashing my entire system, I simply gave up and will be looking elsewhere. NCH say on their site: We make this software free with the hope you will like it so much you might come back and try some of our other many other programs. Sorry NCH, but if this the standard of software you use to entice people into paying for your other programs, then I foresee only bankruptcy in your future. Bottom line: don't touch this software if you value your system's stability - the support forum for the software is full of complaints and they seem to have closed it to further posting.

  Audio stops coming through when you move the wizard past the capture setup screen. When one hits record it makes like it is but nothing actually records after the first second. Also, instructions are very poor and are incomplete.

  Easy to follow step by step. downloads copies and verifies fast.

  Does not work once the dvd is made. Dvd players, and Ive tried several cannot read the DVD
