• Needs More Types Of Buildings and Embelishments

  Pros

  Easy controls, fantastic 360 degree viewing from above or near eye level and a large view distance allows the builder (you) to sit back and enjoy your creations of beauty.

  Cons

  It needs more types of buildings like a circus maximous, walls and public toilets to name a few. Needs more embelishemnts for decorations. Quite repetitive regardless of the mission, and there is not map editor. The battles are laughable and dull.

  Summary

  I give this game 7 out of 10. As stated above, the game needs more types of structures. A circus maximous, senate, palaces, chariot makers, gladiator schools, animal training facilities, schools (a variety of them), candy maker, libraries and public toilets are needed. These additions will allow for a much more visually pleasing creation and minimize redundancy in the same neighborhood. There is also a need for defense walls and gates to slow the enemy advance and allow one to mobalize their army in the right place when needed. The combat aspects are sorely lacking and I find it the thing I like least about this game because battle is so boring. Perhaps an expansion pack that allows the above additions would be a good idea. I know I'd buy it. I do like the possibilities this game has, and it reminds me alot of the Sierra game called (Caesar). The big difference though is the fact that we can view our cities from the ground or from above and with a 360 degreee rotation capability that's quite wonderful for those that like to view their creations from different perspectives. It's a good start, but more can be done to make this game fantastic. I think repairing the battle aspect in this game is hopeless, and this game should be more of a focus on city building, economy and social management anyways, (not fighting). On a last note, the crisis' that pop up every now and then get a bit annoying. A fire starts, and after it's out another starts. I spent a hour just fighting fires and resorted to the cheat to prevent it and the plagues and riots so I can do what I like most (building a beautiful city worthy of a Caesar and a world Empire.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Dec 4, 2008<p/>I forgot to add that other buildings needed would be: barbers, hospitals, dentists and clinics. A map editor would also be really nice.

  I love city building and this city builder sure is a damn good one. Easy game play, easy controls, lots of options. <p>Great graphics, really natural feel, zoom in and it looks as real as a roman city can look like on a computer. The water streams and splashes, the trees move softly in the wind, the shades fall delicately on the balconies of the newly built villa's.. <p>Great builder. After playing the demo, I instantly bought it.

  Cons

  But. So limited in amounts of maps. There are but very few maps available in the free builder mode, and the maps one gets to play in challenger mode aren't available in free builder mode, nor is there any word yet on wether or not there'll ever be a map editor for this game (Which I myself would love to have) and in no map is there space enough to build a truly big city. I wonder if this is simply to keep the game running? <p>So even though I could use some more options (and definately would like more statues and gardens and other embellishment options) it is a great game. Definately recommend it!

  I loved this game demo...and I can't wait to buy the actual game. <p> <p>The graphics are beautiful and very detailed. There are many options, menus and buildings to choose from, and it looks like the game will have tons more. I think they did a great job with this demo as they start you out very simple, with small portions of the the menu and buildings, so you are not overwhelmed with trying to figure out what to do. It takes you through step by step so you can become familiar with the controls of the game...wish more demos were like that! <p> <p>As you progress through the 6 missions, you get more challenges and more menu options open up. I thought there was tons of stuff to do, and by the end of demo I found myself definately wanting to play more. From the previews of the full game, it looks like the demo only has a very small portion of whats in the full game, so it looks very exciting. <p> <p>This demo focuses on starting villages and getting them to grow successfully, you don't even get to the military and big city life, so it appears the game is going to be huge with lots to do. <p> <p>I loved Age of the Empires III, and this felt simular to that game, only it focuses more on the details of starting the villages and growing them into cities. <p> <p>As for downloading and playing this demo, I had no problems at all. Everything went smoothly and worked perfectly for me. Here my system info: XP SP2, Pent 4 3.2Ghz, 512 RAM and Geforce FX5200.

  very impressive game. has a very good tutorial. i had no problems with installing or running it. i would sure like the full version because it deffinatly has great potential

  Pros

  I love the graphics in this game. Most of the natural things in this game (such as water, trees, mountains, etc) look very realistic. Scenery was definitely worked on for a long time. <p> <p>As far as gameplay, most of the controls were very easy, no confusion at all on how build or look at anything. The physics of the people and how they do things were also unbelievable. <p> <p>In the options, you have many selections for resolution, detail, shadowing, draw distance, etc. You can put things the way you want it, so your computer runs it the best. Also after changing setting (such as resolution), you do not need to restart the game, something that irritated me in other games. <p> <p>If you were fans of the old Impression Games games, such as Zues, then this is definitely a try. If not, it's still a good city building game to try out.

  Cons

  Although the graphics were really good, with a 64MB video RAM, 512 MB RAM, and 1.7 processor, it seemed to not get every frame it should be. <p> <p>As far as gameplay for the cons, at some parts it was very confusing on what a building would need to continue struction/opperation. And once you did find out, it was complicated on how to fix it, I'm still not sure to this moment...
