I plugged in my device (a golf watch) a few days ago, booted the app, which told me there were updates to the app, to the OS on the watch, and to the data. I DL's everything (the app went to 3.2.28, not 3.2.27, which is listed here as newest) without a hitch, and it all works fine, as advertised. And the watch is a big help, especially on unfamiliar courses.
Cons
None, either now or before. Maybe a better watch would be good, but I got what I paid for.
Summary
All's fine for me. I've never had the problems the others have encountered.
Doesn't work on a Mac
symmetricMarch 1, 2014
Pros
None that I've seen yet
Cons
Won't connect to my device (Forerunner 910x) or transfer any data.
They released a new version (3.0.4) and it still tells me a new version of the device software is available even though my device already has the new version (3.0) (and it can't connect so how would it know).
Summary
Doesn't work at all, I'm forced to keep using the Garmin Ant Agent, which is also buggy (it generates constant console log errors), but at least it works.
Epic fail...

Pros
Outside of the direction that I think they are heading, which looks good in terms of information provided on the site, etc., I have nothing good to say about Garmin Express software for Mac.
Cons
Installed beautifully...I thought they'd possibly done it right. When I opened the application, it indicated there was an upgrade available. Sure, why not....so that was over 45 minutes ago, and it's still downloading per the screen; oh and it threw a "Device connection required. Please connect your device to the computer." message at me. Now it didn't say how to connect it to the computer, but since it had already found the device through the ANT+ USB dongle thing, I don't know what else it wants. After about 15 minutes, I decided to just plug the device into a USB port on the computer. Nothing has changed. I'm showing 100% has downloaded, but it's not doing a thing. So, I'm going to uninstall Garmin Express for Mac and maybe even look at the new TomTom device...I would like to have something that would work after all. Oh....and it works no better on my PC by the way. It was never able to even find the device there.
Summary
Wait a couple of years for several thousand of the obvious bugs to be worked out.
Not Good. Do not update to this version.

Pros
I don't have any positive things to add regarding this version because in every way it been a downgrade from the previous versions.
Cons
In respect to previous versions which let you backup and restore, as well as save favourites and transfer favourites between devices, this has all disappeared.
I hate this version.
I also disliked the fact that this version automatically defaulted to download all updates available.
This meant the update I did not yet want to install automatically downloaded. I really dislike it when they force one to use a purchased update earlier than one wanted to.
Summary
Stay with an older version until they get it sorted.
Its really bad and so frustrating.
