Many small businesses don't need or can't afford all the options in advanced project-management software such as Microsoft Project. Gantt Chart Builder (Excel) is a more affordable alternative, but unfortunately we didn't find it very effective. On the plus side, this Excel plug-in uses the power of Microsoft's spreadsheet software to provide such features as conditional formatting. It can analyze dependencies among tasks and recalculate charts accordingly. Our major concern is that Gantt Chart Builder requires users to enter and change charts by typing data into Excel cells. You can't, for instance, reschedule a task by dragging its line on the chart or connect tasks by clicking them. Gantt Chart Builder also has very restricted export capabilities. You can either save your chart as an Excel sheet or copy cells into the Clipboard as an image. If you don't have Excel or prefer a more visual-oriented work flow, with a little searching you'll be able to find comparable freeware products.

Really efficient way of creating Gantt charts!

Pros
Easy to use and customise. Documentation included. Has worked flawlessly with every style of project we've thrown at it. Good support service.
Cons
Won't run on Mac, but only a small issue as there are only a few of them in our organisation.
Summary
I have tried a few of these and this one was the only builder that all members of our organisation were comfortable in using. There's a little room for imporvement, but this will happen in-time.
Easier to use when you download as it comes with a User Guide for examples

Pros
Similar in principle to MS Project and so if you understand the principles of MS project or project management you will 'get the feel' of how it works.
Cons
Not good for those who are complete novices to project management as the concepts may be difficult to understand.

Unable to comment as no documentation was supplied with the download. I guess this is some kind of Excel add in; however, I have not been able to determine how to use it.
