This is great game making software with annoying bugs

Everybody seems to like Game Maker, but to me Game Maker was more difficult to use. I was able to make many of the games I wanted with this software. I think sometimes a tutorial can make or break software, and thankfully they have an very good one.
Cons
I really wish they would fix the bugs in this software with a patch or something. This software is not as solid as I believe it could be. I went ahead and paid $94 for the professional version, but such has problems that could show up in your game.
Summary
This is great game making software with some functionality problems and yes they could be annoying. For example, the collision affects MAY NOT always work properly, etc. Also, I personally had problems with giving cloned enemies their individualisms (if one clone died all of them died; it was hard to make separate clones, etc). Hence, problems like this are what I experienced. Thus, I wish they would address such problems in their next version, fix these problems, or make them easier to deal with or something. Having said that, I'm no programmer nor am I a math wiz, but I was still able to make a lot of the things that I wanted to make in my games with this software. I'm surprised that not too many people talk about this software. I?m not sure about Game Maker nor Game Factory (I haven?t had time to learn those yet), but this software is good. I wish I could give this software a 4/5 or 5/5 but it?s hard with the problems mentioned above. My note to the makers of this software is: FIX THE BUGS (and I believe that it could be done) so that I could say that there is no need for any other 2D game making software on this planet!<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on May 26, 2009<p/>I'm sorry. In my post, I said that I "wish" I could give this software a 4/5 but actually did. Oh well, it's could be that good. But still I wish that they'd fix the annoying bugs. Pros
It's easy to learn, it's cheap, and once you get the hang of it you will just want to make more and more games. It is constantly growing and has incredable support at the forum and the program creator. It's a great tool.
Cons
Sometimes it has small bugs, but after you report them on the forum they are fixed within a day.

Interface designed to make games fast. Strong Forum. Powerful scripting. Autosave feature. Cloning. Event Inheritance. Multiple platform exports, All un one roof!!!

Sometimes crashes, but as soon as a crash is reported at the forum (game-editor.com/forum), the bug is worked on. But crashes aren't horrible anymore--like I said, there is an auto save!

This is the first program that I've seen that allows you to create a powerful Windows Mobile-based Pocket PC program without any programming knowledge or major technical concerns. I was floored by the easy handling of animated graphics and alpha transparency, and impressed by the use of various popular music formats and simultaneous stereo sound effects. What would take quite some time and effort to build with other Pocket PC development platforms would take hardly any effort at all with Game Editor, and what you design on the desktop is what you'll get on your Pocket PC device - it's that amazing! <p> <p>Frequent updates by the author and constant interaction with his forum members make him as valuable and appreciated as the program itself. <p> <p>To create royalty-free applications that are encoded and compressed into one executable program will make this purchase pay off in no time at all.
Cons
Initial learning curve. Although there are tutorials, the interface may be a little intimidating, but once understood, it can be easily mastered in minutes and quickly worth every effort you put into it.

Pros
It has a zoomable grid interface makes it easy to view and plan your entire project. <p>The ability to save for multiple platforms is nice. It's fast and the programming is easy for those familliar with C. There are also some useful object manipulation options.
Cons
The tutorial system is cumbersome to use (won't let you pause or rewind at will, and works on a strange mouse-movement concept that doesn't always detect the movement properly). It uses unconventional naming systems (actors instead of objects, etc...). It's also not quite a complete, polished product yet. For the time being it's really not much more than a beta. It's updated regularly, but mostly with bug fixes. It doesn't have all the options that it's more complete competitors do.
