In spite of its large size and lengthy install, FXGolf stands as an excellent golf-simulation game in most respects. You might want to step away from the computer after you start downloading this program, as the 75MB file will take a good bit of time to transfer. After that's done, you still have to register at the developer's site to play, as most of the action takes place in online matches. Still, you can play solo in three courses, although you're limited to the first three holes of each. FXGolf offers several community-oriented features, such as chat rooms and the ability to message other players you meet online. However, we wondered why such a detailed program didn't allow us to build a player from scratch or tweak the default character to our liking. Graphically, this game excels; the courses, scenery, and backgrounds appear very well-rendered, and the sound effects and ball physics are realistic. Controlling your shot, changing clubs, and driving the ball are all thankfully easy and can be performed with just a few clicks of your mouse. Whether you're a real-world or virtual golfer, we strongly suggest you check this game out.

Corrupted Download. Will not load for XP

I tried to download this file 2 times. Each time my Windows environment in XP Sp2 with my pop ups off and Firewall off, I get a window that the file is corrupted. WHY?

This is a convience and easy game to play. It's extremely good to the people enjoy the golf playing on net. It's good , it does.

Though it's good maybe perfect but it's not easy to connecting the server.

Free to download. But that's about it.

For a golf sim, i'd rather play Tiger Woods. The game is buggy, and a lot of the tutorial is still not translated into English! What the heck is up with that? This game is only marginally better than Shot-Online, but both should be avoided for true Golf Sim fans. Tiger Woods is really the only choice. If you like MarioGolf or Hotshots, and want a free online game that has excellent game play, try Albatross18. I found that here on Cnet as well, and it is far better than this, even though it is more arcade golf than simulation golf.
