Freemake Audio Converter is a new free tool that converts audio files between all key audio formats and prepares music for MP3 players, mobile phones and Apple gadgets. It accepts over 40 audio file formats (MP3, WMA, WAV, FLAC, AAC, M4A, OGG, AMR, AC3, AIFF, M4R) and makes it possible to listen to almost any audio in iPod, Zune, Coby, SanDisc and many others. The free audio program converts music to M4A audio format preparing files for Apple devices - iPad, iPhone, iPod. For more convenience it also exports converted audio files directly to iTunes library. For each of the supported audio formats Freemake Audio Converter has several pre-defined presets. The powerful users can create a custom preset with the adjustment of bitrate, audio channels and sample rate of the output audio. Freemake Audio Converter is also capable of extracting audio from video files - DVD, MP4, AVI, MPEG, H.264, MKV, DIVX, MOV, WMV, VOB, 3GP, RM, QT, FLV and over forty other video formats. For those who would like to convert multiple audio files simultaneously, the audio converter provides the batch mode option. Also, the freeware allows users to join audio files into one and convert it to any of the supported output formats. Freemake Audio Converter is optimized for netbooks and runs under Windows XP/Vista/7. It does not have any hidden costs or intrusive advertising.

Very intuitive to use and lots of options format

I've never found an audio converter so complete and with the excellent final quality sound of converted files

Did't find something wrong with that excellent software
Summary
No one is going to give you such a complete software for the lower price you must pay to get the complete version. Other software more expensive doesn't offer you the benefits of FREEMAKE AUDIO CONVERTER. I strongly recommend this software that's very ease to use.

You start getting this message when you try to convert a mp3 music file. get a message that says. Your file is longer than 3 minutes. Unlimited conversion is available in Freemake infinite pack. 90% of music mp3s are more that 3 minutes. This makes this software useless now.

It want's you to pay for Freemake infinite pack to convert files longer than 3 minutes. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT.

Does what it promises, fine and easy.
Cons
Hate the Ad-ware, Toolbar etc that installs without asking your permission or giving you an option to skip it. This causes a lot of trouble for you when you try to get rid of them. Shame.
Summary
A very useful and and well designed product. I would have given it five stars, but for its ad-ware case. Please, REMOVE IT!!!

Does an average job of re-encoding audio
Cons
Installs ad-ware without asking, which results in hijacking of your homepage in all browsers, destroying any saved sessions in Chrome and installing unauthorised toolbars. Limited options for converting audio files. Doesn't copy any meta-data in the transcoded files.
Summary
Avoid this software at all costs. Regret installing it and causing myself frustration at having to sort out the mess its third party software caused. There's much better open source options available with non of the malicious software attached.
