  Pros

  there is hardly any need to install software once you have installed the Free M4B to MP3 converter tool. The conversion process is quick and problem-free. I have had no system hang-ups or delays while using this app. I think it is a splendid tool with many benefits.

  The Software crashes permanent and does ANY job. It pulls my laptop cpu power down in the background somehow. And it installed a so called "roll around" ad software who installed in you browser such slip-in-ad-windows. There are removers for that but they don't remove "roll around". And the internet instructions says you can stop it under "Tools" and "Ad-Ons" but there is nothing to find. I have to uninstalle now my Browser and have to reinstalle it.

  Rubbish. Don't installe it. It's a shame you can find something like THAT on the CNet Webpage. I have done one and only for this Review my CNet account to warn other. Don't install it !!!!!

• Errors Out When Run and Installed A Different Program

  The setup file titled 'Free M4B to MP3 Converter' installed fine but every time I attempted to run it I got an error saying that the "Free MKV to MP4 Converter has encountered a problem and needs to close." I double checked the name of the installation file and it's 'Free M4B to MP3 Converter'. Why the difference? I don't know but it seems like the setup file was either intentionally misnamed or someone just goofed and uploaded the wrong thing. I'm running WinXP sp3 which is supported.

  Summary

  I wouldn't recommend this because it seems that the setup file is installing a different program then the one you choose to download. In other words, it is not what it says on the tin. Also, it continually crashed and gave an error when I attempted to run it. I was never able to get it to run.

  Summary

  I couldn't get this to work. I selected the file I wanted to convert, selected the folder for it to go to, and hit convert....nothing. This program works worse than the door close button on an elevator.

  THIS FILE CONTAINS A TROJAN VIRUS. DO NOT DOWNLOAD UNLESS YOU WANT TO RUIN YOUR COMPUTER. THIS IS THE 3RD SEPERATE TIME IVE ALMOST CONTRACTED A VIRUS FROM CNET WITH BAD DOWNLOADS. CONTROL YOUR FILES!!!!! IF I WANT A VIRUS, I'LL GO TO A DIFFERENT SITE. IT IS SAD, BECAUSE CNET USED TO BE A TRUSTED PLACE TO GO FOR A DOWNLOAD. THIS IS NO LONGER THE CASE. THEY ARE NO BETTER THAN THE $2 PROSTITUTE THAT HAS EVERY BUG YOU CAN IMAGINE. DOWNLOADER BEWARE!!

  Despite the other negative comment I tried this as there are slim pickings on M4B converters. Just like the guy before me posted, it crashed twice on installation and finally got it to work (ironically it crashes when saying no to allow additional third party software on your system you don't want), but after declining the half a dozen plus software programs they try to trick you into installing for those unaware, I finally got the software running. Inserting a MB4 into the system would result in red text even though it works fine on a itunes M4B reader. Forget about converting because no matter how many times you click it, it does nothing! Doesn't even try to start! Then upon uninstalling it you can see the hidden trojanware they put in your system despite your saying no in the legal section. Waste of my time and something that had to be past forward to anyone looking here for a M4B converter.

  Installer died a few times. It took a few tries to install.

  Summary

  Did not convert M4B files to MP3. It did nothing but spin and spin. I finally shut it down and uninstalled it. Complete waste of time.
