For novices, editing images can be a daunting task. That's why it's important to have a program that makes the whole process as friendly and effortless as possible. Unfortunately, Free Image Editor is not that kind of program.

The program's user interface is both unattractive and unintuitive. Three rows of tiny command buttons run across the top of the window. We had to hover our mouse over each one to find out what it's supposed to do. The only Help feature we could find was a link to the publisher's Web site, and even then, we were unable to spot any kind of FAQs or support page. We opened an image file to test the program, and cropped, rotated, and flipped the image successfully. Free Image Editor's preview option lets you see your changes before you make them permanent, a must for any image editor. A few of the commands puzzled us. For the example, there was a button that was supposed to "Enhance an image." When we clicked on it, we expected a window to appear that would allow us to manipulate the image in some way. Nothing appeared, and after a few seconds the program stopped working altogether and had to be restarted, which was not encouraging.

Free Image Editor comes as a ZIP file. It installs and uninstalls without any issues. While it did most of what it promised to do, we recommend you keep looking for an image editor with more help, better design, and proper functions.

Not worth the time it takes to download and install

Couldn't find any thing positive to say about it.
Cons
Program would freeze or do some weird things to the video.
Summary
Don't waste your time with this program. I try a lot of free programs and I'm willing to pay for those that do what they say they will do but this program is a total waste.

Pros
An unusal program, it has a good option to resize photo's based on different formula's. There is this effect Sand and Plasma wich I did not found with other programs. There are many options of tweaking colours.
Cons
One Effect is not active, Line Art.. too bad, and option: Change Thickness.. not active too. The given adress for qestions to Asked does not work. A very bad thing No proper Help Function and no Faq.. very sloppy. There is no Faq.
Summary
Mixed feelings about this program. It seems they does not want to be bothered by questions, by mail or else. They made this mail option unusabe.
I had difficulty with it. Doesn't have as many features as my current software.

As an image editor, some filter effect are not available from other free image editor. Like sand. The number of the effect filter is big when considering the size of program

1. No layer 2. No advanced selection tool 3. No text feature 4. Even though the filters are there, the effect is unpredictable. 5. Need preview of filter image in preview mode, it might be faster than just applying a filter on a large image. 6. It is impossible to use .8bf plugins. Some other free image editors support it. 7. It seems the website is not the developer's website. Therefore it is unlikely there is support or forum for it.

This is an absolutely MAPA program, presented as image editor. Maybe this is the reason why it is offered for free. It misses the "copy" and "paste" functions, there is no "text" choice, no "shadow", no "video" import, no "gradient colour"...
Cons
What this program offers? Practicaly nothing for someone to work with. Therefore, the whole thing must be called MAPA.
