Flixster Movies for Windows

Flixster is a popular Web site that combines movie reviews and listings with social networking. Flixster Movies is a Chrome extension that makes selected Flixster content easily accessible from within your browser. Although the full range of Flixster's features isn't represented, it's still a good way to integrate movie showtimes into your browser.

Like most Chrome extensions, Flixster installs easily, appearing as an icon to the right of Chrome's address bar. Click on the icon and a menu appears with tabs for popular movies, movies that are coming soon, and movies that are now on DVD. Each movie listed has a link to reviews, showtimes, and trailers, although all of these open in a regular browser tab and not within the extension. A search box lets you search for movies by title, actor, or director. There's also a link at the bottom that will take you to a list of local showtimes. The extension's interface is uncluttered and attractive. Really, all Flixster Movies does is give you faster access to the content on the Flixster Web site, but if you're a movie buff and you like to keep up with the latest releases, it's not a bad extension to have; you can get the information you need with just a click of your mouse.
