BB FlashBack Standard Edition is an incredibly easy-to-use program that allows you to create video recordings of on-screen activities. The program's cool features and intuitive design make it a great choice for presentations, tutorials, and more.

The program's interface is quite well-designed, and getting started with the recording features is easy. A small (but optional) toolbar appears next to the your system tray, with buttons for Record, Stop, and Play, as well as access to a more detailed menu. When you're ready to record, just click the button, and a brief wizard appears that allows you to customize settings for display, sound, Webcam, and more. You can have the program record the full screen, a particular region of the screen, or just one window. We thought it was especially cool that you can run the Webcam at the same time you're recording in full-screen mode; the Webcam recording then appears inset within the full-screen view and can be moved and resized as needed. Anyone who finds themselves using the same settings over and over again can make use of the Quick Record feature, which remembers the settings from the previous recording session. The program's editing tools allow you to crop videos and add markers, text, images, sounds, and more. Overall, we were quite impressed with BB FlashBack Standard's versatile features, and we think it's the best program of this type that we've seen.

BB FlashBack Standard Edition has a 30-day trial period. The program installs and uninstalls without issues. We highly recommend this program to all users.

Very nice software
ayeshrajansJune 13, 2013
Pros
- Records videos in the highest possible quality. - Does not slow down the system. You can play COD, recording the gameplay on a fairly normal PC. - Ability to modify the timeline and edit the output video. - Ability to add text, shapes, etc.
Cons
- Effects and shapes look too old-fashioned. - It's not very easy to navigate on a large video timeline. - No good color pallet. - No shortcuts (or an indication that they exist)
Summary
I used this little piece of magical software for most of my regular screen recordings. I'm a developer myself and it's quite useful and impresses the client if I provide a video tutorial. Other screen recorders can't even come closer to BB FlashBack's video quality. It's recorded to a timeline with a fixed framerate which means you can very easily remove all the parts you don't need, copy some frames somewhere else, and even more.
Record the audio really well!

Pros
I found similar softwares having difficulties getting the screen and audio recording right, but this software does it with a breeze. Well done.
Cons
#1 Price - $89 is borderline expensive for a standard version. I reckon they'd sell more if the price is closer to $50. Their top of the line Pro Edition also costs $199 and with Camtasia only $100 more it's a pretty tough sell. #2 It requires 2 steps process to convert the initial recording into avi or other common formats while cheaper softwares would automatically do it (ok - I got the idea. You have the chance to edit it before converting it. It is still a hassle though)
Summary
They got it right with this one. I am happy with the output. Price is the thing to consider with both the Standard and Pro version.
The best screen cap software I've used.
dock lizardJanuary 8, 2012
Pros
simple to set up and use/excellent export, sharing & publishing capabilities/records webcam and screen/nice effects & annotations
Cons
none so far
Summary
I got the Standard edition and it is the best screen cap software I've used so far. I make short, simple videos for my educational website to explain/enhance certain points of information and this software more than does the job. The editing features in the Pro edition would probably be nice to have, but I didn't think it was worth the extra cost for my needs. I'm very satisfied with this product.
Good Pics, but...

Summary

A Much Welcomed Alternative to Hypercam
mrzeppelin09February 5, 2010
Pros
Movie Maker-ish interface Easy to Use Can record cleanly without any quality loss Great alternative to Hypercam
Cons
Slows down old computers Can take long to process video
Summary
BB FlashBack Standard Edition is a much welcomed alternative to Hypercam. I was quite impressed that users such as myself, who are used to the Windows Movie Maker scheme will have an easy time with it. At first I was appalled at the massive price tag this program brought with it, but all of your $89 are being well spent.
