• Tried it, didn't work

  Pros

  The software is only 1.7 megabytes or such, very small executable.

  Cons

  I downloaded the software to rotate a short AVI video clip 90 degrees since I tilted by camera to the side to record some footage. Simple enough project, and something that this software advertises it can do. <p>There's a clearly marked button that says rotate clip, and the software took about 20 minutes to render the rest of the clip but the final product didn't work at all.

  Pros

  So simple to use, it took me no time to figure it out and have it doing what I needed. I wanted to manipulate (cut, rotate, recompress) my camera's .avi files, and this program does everything I wanted.

  Cons

  I haven't tried all of the functions, and compression can be tricky if you don't know your codecs well (which I don't). It stopped working once, but the problem went away when I reinstalled.

  Pros

  Program does exactly what I needed and does it perfectly. I have lots of conversion software (DVD-AVI, AVI to other formats) and I just wanted something simple to edit the large AVIs into manageable sized clips for conversion for my web pages. <p>The problem with multifunction software is it tries to do too much and either does nothing well, or does one or two things well and the rest poorly so you still need other tools to do it right (like having just one tool in the kitchen, ridiculous). This is an easy to use intuitive program that does what it says it does with nice clean renderings, and I'll be using it a lot.

  Cons

  Only problem I had was loading the product key after I paid for the full version about an hour after I loaded the free trial version.

  Pros

  I had a problem: the AVI videos that my digital camera takes sometimes needed some touch ups, such as rotating or contrast adjustment. This program does both, and was very easy to use.

  Cons

  This program does exactly what it is advertised to do, and does it well - nothing more. For example, it won't work for MPEG movies - but it doesn't claim to either. Since my digital camera only takes AVIs, this is fine for me.

  In fact, I'll only use this program in order to perform screenshots of AVI files. The program don't display clips in overlay or direct X mode that prevent screen capture Unfortunately only AVI files are supported, not MPEG...
