  I feel that I may have been the victim of a deliberate bait and switch engineered by HalfPriceSoft.com. The wording for the hyperlink to order "ezCheckPrinting: Business Check Printing software for Windows, Single-user Version" states that it doesn't import data from QuickBooks but says nothing about Quicken leaving the impression by inference that QuickBooks is an exception and that it does import data ONLY from Quicken. IT DOES NOT. I had to pay another $40 to print checks from Quicken. The explanation is hidden at the end of the instructions on page http://www.halfpricesoft.com/quicken-check-printing/print-quicken-checks.asp

  By ambiguous wording, deliberately or inadvertently the impression given is that "ezCheckPrinting: Business Check Printing software for Windows, Single-user Version" is a complete package to print checks from Quicken. It isn't. HalfPriceSoft is advertising a misleading description of its software's features. Be careful.

  Pros

  Easy to set up if you don't change fonts, load pictures etc. Would have been good for what I needed if it just disclosed that you cannot print blank checks on the trial version without the word TRIAL all over them

  Doesn't tell you that it is going to print "TRIAL" on the blank checks. I would have been fine if they had disclosed this. But they did not, so I spent the time with set up and then used my check stock paper. Complete waste of that check stock. BIG SHAME. I have limited paper left. So this wasted all my goodwill with this company. I will not be buying afterall since I've now wasted the paper I had left.

• Errors galore. Very buggy

  It's neat to be able to design your own checks, and this program sort of allows you to do that, but...

  Cons

  Don't get this program if you are in a hurry (like need your checks created in 3 days or less). This is the buggiest program I have ever encountered. If you try to be creative and change fonts to something like Helvetica (crazy, I know, you are going to get big RED X errors. Also, as you go from edit to edit in the layout page, your fonts will change to the last option you selected. For instance, say the bank info is Tahoma bold 8, and you want to change the location of the company info. When you click on company info, the font will change to that of the bank info that you just edited. You're constantly chasing your tail with this program. It's taken my literally 3 days to get to a point where I feel I'm close to getting what I want, but I have to keep taking "frustration breaks" to avoid smashing the keyboard over the monitor.

  Summary

  Since I have no basis to measure this program against, it may be the best for the price, but it is very frustrating to work with. I paid $29 for it, but if $39 or $50 would get me something that is less buggy, I would buy it. If this were free, I would have already moved on, but this is what I bought and it's all I could afford, so I'm suffering through it.

  Works well as a stand alone register &#38; check writer.

  Didn't use it much as it was not for personal checks. Support is slow. Need was past before support was provided.

  Description did not state that this was strictly for business check writing. Could not use it with my prepurchased blank personal checks.

  Summary

  Software is really easy to use i like it allot. I went to sample's today and pick up 900 check paper for $20. Before you start printing check out print a test checks of on copying paper first. I had to adjust everything down a little bit. That was easy to do. You never use a check book anymore to pay your bills. Then you can print out your check register you don't even have to write it down.

  Pros

  It is very straight-forward, easy-to-use and flexiable. And it can be FREE even for the regular version. I got it free by checking out though TrialPay. And I also got free check paper.

  Cons

  It just support business check in US. If you need to print personal check, you need to use ezCheckpersonal.

  Summary

  It can print pre-printed blank checks that I can fill in later manually. I like this feature. I never need to order checks from my bank any more.

  Pros

  Was easy to use and learn. Very straightforward. probably uses very little resources.

  Cons

  The software, by default, places the memo line and the signature line BELOW the line that says "reserved for banking code only below this line" on their own check alignment page. To correct this, you have to get the paid version. Very sneaky.

  Summary

  It was advertised as free, and touted all these cool features. Most of which are NOT available in the free version.
