  I've used it far in the past.

  Based on lack of new info or reviews it appears it still lives far in the past.

  Summary

  Completely uncomfortable with trying it with no recent info anywhere that I've found. This would serve a family member beautifully if it's as simple as it looks. Personally I use Nero, Sound Forge or any number of other products with a much higher learning curve...many cheaper than what this costs, but more confusing to the newbie.

• Perfect for me

  Pros

  I have used this program or it's earlier predecessor for 9 years. I've had easy access to all the updates with no further payment. I use it for converting .mp2 and other files for my iPod- almost all are voice content from the BBC- plays and the like- which I record on my DAB radio. The program has become better and better, faster and faster and more comprehensive. The help files cover everything I've ever needed to know.

  None that I've come across

  Summary

  I can't say it's the best because I haven't needed to try any others. For a single payment you're allowed to put it on all your computers, and you can even install it on a computer you can't connect to the internet, as I only found out with the latest version. I sent an email and he sorted it out for me straight away.

  Pros

  - It mostly does what it promises to. - Support for many obscure files. - Even offers bitrates to Apple's m4a that iTunes itself doesn't offer (without resorting to lossless). - Generally above average quality to audio processing.

  Cons

  - App has history of hanging if there is a period in the file name before the file extension. Linux fans will laugh at this. - Non-standard metadata formatting for "total tracks"; Instead of separating the track # and total tracks for an album, it puts them both in a single field divided by a slash. Not all players like this and metadata formats generally respond better to it being separated. - In purchasing the app, you are given a long authorization key via email. NEVER LOSE IT, AS IT'S THE ONLY ONE YOU'LL GET. - Either they are unavailable to answer emails, or they don't want to. I've been waiting for a month for them to respond to my request for assistance with a lost auth key. The app is otherwise useless to me.

  Summary

  It's still not quite the most intuitive ripper app out there. But, it certainly does it's job. It has a few hitches, which I would expect of GNU/freeware. I don't really expect them of paid-for apps, though. E-mailing them for help has proven useless. After losing the email with their authorization key, I've looked for assistance on Poikosoft's website with no success so far. No attempts to gain help from them have worked out; following their own directions for gaining assistance has resulted in being ignored. At this point, I've given up on waiting and have researched competitors. In that time, I've also found research on signal clarity among audio apps [from professional workstations down to rippers/converters]. While EZ CD Converter performs pretty well, the audio quality study shows that dBpoweramp performs quite a bit better. Product authorization isn't dependent upon a single issuance of an auth key, either. In terms of total capability, dBpoweramp is also superior, and now more than $20 more than EZ CD. No idea if they're more responsive to e-mails, but they can't be any worse.

  Pros

  For me this is the best all-in-one music handling software. It does just about everything you need, and does it very well. I like it because I only need to have one program. Interface is intuitive and very easy to use. Ripper, Converter, Burner are all fast and fun to use.

• Didn't work except when it did

  Pros

  Reasonably reliable metadata database searches, simple to use once you get your bearings, easy to make personal changes to metadata.

  Cons

  Crashed *repeatedly*, wouldn't release my microSD card even though the program was closed, resulting in a corrupted card.

  Summary

  Simple and reliable metadata editor, but I've been attempting to repair microSD card for hours now and am a little bitter about that.

  Pros

  Allows auto download of artist/album/cover photo, etc. Allows editing of a lot of metadata, including lyrics. Maker has been continuously updating the app for years and years. Always current encoders. Remembers most info if a cd has been encoded before. Unlimited license allows upgrades forever. (6 years and counting!) Version 2.0 is out now!

  Cons

  Freezes on rare occasion while entering text. There's a few more metadata entries I wish it included. Select a full column must be done with mouse clicks and drag. Could use multiple genre entries.

  Summary

  This app offers the greatest control and simplest interface for ripping cd's of any app I've tried. It also encodes very quickly. About 4 minutes per cd on a very up to date computer, using m4a at 256kbps, or mp3 vbr quality 1, and only consumes about 30% cpu usage. Unfortunately, it puts all cd's in a multi-disc set into 1 folder. The m3u file will sort them correctly, but I'd prefer a subfolder for each disc, especially for albums with a name for each disc. (eg: Tom Waits: Orphans - Brawlers, Bawlers, and Bastards) Also, will auto-download for lyrics ever be an option? And no bpm detection, or metadata field. Would be nice, but again, given what you pay, you get a whole ton of program, and they support it / update it very well. This program used to be called easy cd da audio extractor. They came out with about 8 new versions from when I bought it, and then switched name to ez cd audio, version 1, and now version 2. My "ultimate" key has worked all the way along - so super pleased about that.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Jan 20, 2014<p/>Actually, it will sort multi-disc sets into sub folders. Just found the tag for that.

  Pros

  Very simple to operate. clearly understandable interface. Automatically collects and assigns titles, artists, album, date of release, artwork etc with the click of a mouse. Product is crystal clear and good quality.

• Absolutely The Best And Easiest

  Pros

  It's great! Does everything one could imagine with audio. Rips, Converts, Tags, etc... This little gem can even extract audio from video files. This Has all of the major and some less known codecs. The sound is as good as any other I've tried and better than 80 percent of them. Can read and burn ISO files also.

  Cons

  None. I've been using one version or another for about 3 years now.

  Summary

  For the money this really can't be beat IMHO. I've tried the free ones but they just can't compare. The closest I've found for Free Is Fre:AC and it still isn't nearly as configurable as Easy CD-DA. This has all the bells and whistles put in a package that even most novices will find intuitive and practical. The resulting rips/conversions are of the utmost quality and free upgrades for life make this a true blessing for audiophiles and casual listeners alike.

• Great Windows 8 CD ripper audio converter

  Pros

  I gave this program a try. Worked flawlessly for me and it also had a GREAT CD maker program which I also needed. I also love the fact that you can create multi-profiles. I have one for me and one for my brother so I can save my music files where I want and save his music files where he wants just by clicking on the Profile name. You also have a variety of forms to save your file as (MP3, WAVE, ETC).

  Cons

  NONE!!!! NADA!!!! NOTHING!!!!

  Summary

  I tried at least 12 different CD rippers programs, free and pay, to see if they could meet my needs but all but this one failed my test. This is a great program and I would have even paid $50 for it. Bottom line: Give this program a try if your looking for a GREAT CD RIPPER AUDIO CONVERTER PROGRAM. You get 30 days to try it so you have nothing to lose. It also uninstalls cleanly if you should decide this program isn't for you.

  Pros

  Fast. Easy. All automatic metadata from freedb, Music Brainz, GD3 databases. First 30 days free. Rips a CD fast. Converts music very very fast.

  Cons

  Definitely worth the price, includes free lifetime upgrades which is cool !

  Summary

  Fast ripper, super fast converter, good burner, all audio codecs out of the box. What else do you need ?
