• Worked perfectly; much better than many others

  Pros

  While on vacation, I took a bunch of pictures with my Canon DSLR, as well as with my iPhone. These were in 3 different time zones. Of course, the iPhone knew the local time OK, but the DLSR did not. Plus the DSLR time was off by 15 minutes on top of that. So, when we finished our trip and combined all the pictures into one directory, the pics from the DSLR were out of sync with those from the iPhone. The best other software would let me batch edit the "created time" and "modified time" fields, but it didn't change how Windows Explorer sorted the files, and the original date remained when viewing with Explorer. I found out I needed to change the "date taken" field. I ended up downloading 5-6 different programs that would not do what I needed, before finding this one. It also generates output files, in a user-selectable directory, rather than changing your original files. You can also control what the output file name is - either the same name or a selectable format.

  Cons

  I only used this program for one task, but I found no negatives.

  Summary

  It sure worked great for what I needed. And it was easy to learn and very intuitive to use. Within a few minutes of installing it, I had solved my problem that several other software programs were unable to solve. It also had the most detailed control over what changes I wanted it to make.

• Does the job well

  Pros

  I had taken a whole bunch of photos with the default factory date and time. Result - the dates on my photos were out by over 6 years. I was able to correct both the date and time very easily. The application even allows you to set the desired date and time and works out the offset.

  Cons

  I was thrown by the fact that the filename was also changed, which was not my original intention, but it's not a problem.

  Changes EXIF dates fast.

  Cons

  This program has the world's worst interface especially for viewing what you're doing and what you've done. It is a program that is user-hostile in about every way. I'll outline the cons in the summary below.

  Summary

  Program deficiencies: 1. Using this program is flying blind. The window can't be resized so you can't see long directory names. 2. Continuing with working blind. You select files to be changed but those files are not displayed. Did you select right? It's a mystery. I always like to see what I'm working on. 3. The default for output file should be to overwrite the original. Why all the fuss over output directory. You are only changing one thing in the file, it's not like all is lost if you make a mistake. Yes, another directory could be an output option. 4. Why the fancy renaming of the file. Why would you want to change a picture's EXIF date and have it come out a different name? This is a lot of ado about nothing. 5. As for me, I want the result of the re-dated pic in the same directory with the same name. What a pain to have to copy date-changed files with different names back into your source directory. 6. Yes, I know all of you are just asking 'why can't he just use the options available'? Well, this is the most unintuitive program I've ever seen for just a simple operation. With windows you have all the saving options you need. Why gum-up the works with unnecessary options....but, see next. 7. This free version is one of the most annoying programs I've ever used. Many of the options pop up a window with an error message "Sorry, this option is only available within the pro version". To sum up: For such a simple concept (change the EXIF date taken), a simple execution is all that's necessary. Therefore, I have a simple solution: DELETE.

• Excellent! Copied and dated 100 in 1 minute!

  Pros

  Changed the dates (date modified, created, picture taken) and changed the name of the picture to include the date in the name. When it changes the names, it copies them to another directory, so I had it copy them from my camera to my computer while it changed the dates. 100 pics at approximately 3MB each all done in 1 minute.

  Cons

  Creating your own output file mask (how it can rename your files) might be a bit overwhelming for some people.

  Summary

  You can select to not have the program rename your files. You can have it remove the original files. If you make a mistake, and you haven't told it to remove the originals, it's easy enough to try again. It seems to be a "Swiss Army knife" for changing file dates!

• Great Software - Does what it says

  EXIF Date-Time stamp change has excellent range Easy to use Clear user interface Reasonable options for free vs pro version.

  Cons

  Did what I needed. None known at this point.

  Summary

  EXIF Date-Time stamp can be changed by larger values than just hrs. If your camera date gets messed up (mine got itself out by 1yr - duh! Fixed the issue like a charm), this will be invaluable. as per "Pros" - Easy to use; clear user interface. Reasonable options for free vs pro version and, Pro version not expensive anyway.

• Doesn't change date stamp

  It did not change the stamp on my one photo, did not put results in the directory I specified (created an "adjusted" directory), etc. Thought maybe I'd made an error, and same results on 2nd try. Uninstalled immediately. Worthless download.

• Does what it says. Works on Vista.

  Pros

  It's a simple product that does what it says. Easy to use, straight forward. It works with Windows Vista (even though it isn't mentioned).

  Cons

  It's not a "pretty" interface and a little rough around the edges--but you only use it for a simple straight forward purpose thus it's not a big deal. Plus, it's FREE.

  Summary

  I first tried to change the picture times in Adobe Photoshop (see what happened below if you wish): Even though programs like Adobe Photoshop are supposed to have this capability, when i tried to change the time on my pictures by only one hour it seemed to work based on the pictures within Photoshop but then when i looked at them in Windows Explorer it changed the time by many hours (i tried this several times with the same result). So a program like this with a simple purpose was just what i needed--i didn't want to download another full photo imaging suite---this software did the job.
