• Where is the Mac OS-X 64 bit upgrade for Photoshop CS5?

  Pros

  I haven't purchased yet, but judging from the reviews, this seems like excellent software.

  Cons

  I'm running Photoshop CS5.5 in 64 bit mode and Noiseware won't run in 64 bit mode on a Mac. It will on a PC... but not on my iMac.

  Summary

  If I'm reading the reviews correctly, they have been promising a Mac version that runs in 64 bit mode for over a year now. I won't purchase it until that happens. When I questioned Imagenomic about it directly, they got a bit snippy with me. Clearly this is a sore subject with them. I have to wonder why that is???

  Pros

  It does a very effective job of smoothing a picture by softening or deleting any color or luminance noise, while preserving details.

  Cons

  It takes a little bit of experimenting to get it "just right". At first a novice is likely to turn a perfectly good but "noisy" photo into a blurred mess. The user interface is adequate but less than ideal..

  Summary

  If you shoot JPEGs and are tired of all the digital artifacts that come with blowing up the image past wallet size, then this is the "magic" solution for you. My first experiment was to smooth out a dramatic cloudy sky. After a number of attempts, the clouds now look smooth, with silky blends from dark to light. I had tried the blur tool, and other tools in Photoshop with no acceptable results; Noiseware Pro did the trick.
