  Pros

  Easy to follow stepped process for conversion. Good indexed help file that had a lot of useful information about the conversion process generally, problems to avoid, etc.

  Cons

  Could have been a bit faster. I suppose that is because it is actually performing the conversion process inside of Excel with vba code.

  Summary

  I bought the licensed version and had good luck with it. My work recently upgraded to Office 2010 and we had several thousand Excel files that needed to get converted from Excel 2003 and even some legacy files going way back to 95 and earlier. So I was able to get the whole project done pretty fast using the batch processing capability of the program. The best part for me was the feature that allows automatic saving of either a XLSM or XLSX file depending on whether there are macros inside the workbook. When my boss first scoped the conversion project we weren't sure how we were going to do that. Even though the project is done now, I will keep the program because it has a cool feature that lets you get a report on all the properties of however many Excel files you want to examine. This helped us figure out our Excel inventory (things like which were password protected, which had macros, which had certain worksheet names, file size, etc.) This allowed us to create an intelligent strategy on how to migrate our files to a new directory structure after converting.
