Scan barcodes with your iSight! Now you can use your iSight as a barcode scanner! Using advanced image processing techniques, EvoBarcode recognizes barcodes from your iSight and instantly sends them to any application. It can also send scanned barcodes to the Clipboard, or to an AppleScript, allowing you to integrate EvoBarcode with existing software solutions.Unlike laser-based barcode scanners, EvoBarcode works by capturing video from your camera, and analyzing each frame to find barcodes. Its advanced image processing algorithms can find and recognize barcodes regardless of their orientation. EvoBarcode recognizes UPC-A, UPC-E, EAN-13 and EAN-8 barcode symbologies.

This version doesn't work at all!
It bombs all the time and is not Universal Binary. You have to go to Activity Viewer and quit "Translated" just to get it to run.
Once it does run, it was not able to scan any bar code that I threw at it. I tried every distance, and every adjustment.
Even Delicious Library can scan from my MacBook, so I am hoping once they go Universal and update it, it will work.
Until then, don't even try.
I am hoping to find something that will scan into FileMaker and other apps.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Could not get to scan any barcodes using isight, on any focus setting, distance, or lighting, isight is using 1.0.2 firmware on 10.3.7. Documentation has no trouble shooting tips other than email support which doesn't give me a solution I want now. I would not recommend til better documentation or quality of software is worked in for more reliable use.
Geesh! Kinda steep for a one trick pony...

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I have downloaded and tested the demo. It works well on my Logitech QuickCam 3000 with the IOXperts driver. It's really a cool application, albeit slow.
More robust apps (FaxCenter ($10) comes to mind) offer ten times more for less $. While it's a cool app, I'll pass until either the price or features fall in line.
Works perfectly and flawlessly

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />This is an awesome little piece of software. It worked well to scan UPC #'s from publications to then enter in to Books, which is a great piece of software. Now, if there was just an easy way to make the scanned upc transfer to Books, we'd be in good shape- anyone out there good with scripts?
