EvJO Photo-Image Resizer is a simple tool for resizing photos. While it performs its primary function well enough, the program includes a feature that makes up for any flaws.

We were initially disappointed with the interface because the Help file wouldn't open. However, the program's three-step setup was simple enough that we still felt comfortable using it. All the work was performed on one screen, which was another benefit that made the process intuitive and manageable. You can choose your image or an entire folder and determine its new dimensions in a matter of moments. However, the Resize options did have one pull-down menu that confused us, since it was not labeled and provided a selection of terms we weren't familiar with, like Mitchell, Bicubic, and Bilinear. The previously mentioned Help file problem left us in the dark, but the program still converted images flawlessly, no matter what option we chose from this menu. Fortunately, the program rebounded big with its file type conversion feature. This is an option most other image resizers don't provide, and it quickly converted our new picture to a JPEG, GIF, TIFF, BMP, and other file types. All results maintained the original image's integrity. While its interface was a little shaky, its quick conversion of files made it worth the effort.

EvJO Photo-Image Resizer comes with a 15-day trial limit. It installs desktop icons without permission. Although we were disappointed by the interface, its functions and features made up enough ground that we still recommend this program.

it is a gimick

Pros
It does have features
Cons
It is advertised for free but.......you have to sign up for a registration and you are forced to sign up for advertisement sales gimicks.
Summary
It is not worth the effort and additional sales emails it will generate. There are a lot of free resizers as good.
Huge picture files made small to send on the internet.

Pros
Very easy to use. Huge picture files made any smaller size you want. Resize one file or multiple files almost instantly. It doesn't change your original pictures. Instead it makes a copy at the new smaller size and places it in any folder you choose.
Cons
Many advanced features, but no help or manual.
Summary
This wins my vote as the best shareware program I've ever downloaded. It's nice to see a simple, well thought out program that does only one thing and does it very very well.
Easilly makes copies of your digital photos small enough to email

Pros
Each photo from my digital camera is a huge file. This program flawlessly makes a smaller copy of any photo, or multiple photos. The best thing is that it does not change your original photo. The smaller copy is placed in any folder you choose. The interface is clear and intuitive (with one exception noted below). This is a terrific program.
Cons
Selecting where a copy of your photo will be placed in your computer is confusing, especially so when you're downsizing a lot of photos at the same time. I still haven't figured out how to do it after using the program for a while. But I'm a computer illiterate. It's a minor flaw though and the publisher says a help file will be provided in a later version.

Does what I need it to pretty easily

Pros
I upload folders of images to the web on a regular basis for my blog, and I need to resize them, so as not to fill up my storage quite as quickly. I normally use the "process multiple files" in Photoshop Elements. However, when I am on the road, I have this old Pentium II laptop that won't run Elements very quickly, so I needed a free program that runs on Windows 98 to resize pictures I take while I'm away. This fit the bill perfectly. I must admit I was a bit skeptical when no one had rated it, and CNET didn't have a review, but I tried it anyway.
At a little over 1 meg, this is a small install file and program. The interface, while not a wizard or step-by-step process, is simple enough. Just go to the tab you need, fill out everything you want it to do, where you want things to go, how you want things renamed, and you're ready to go.
A note: To get the same size (and quality) file as a JPEG Medium quality in Elements, you have to set the JPEG quality to around 70.
It comes with its own uninstall, so after testing it on my desktop, I could easily remove it. It will become a staple on my laptop, however!
Cons
I don't ever use these features, but for those who are looking, this program doesn't include a "sharpen" option (which is useful for making thumbnails). It also doesn't include a watermark option.
